PvP penetration cap

So I heard penetration is capped at 50% in PvP. Say your build puts out 18k phys pen and your opponent is sitting at 24k phys resistance, you're not gonna do 18k pen you'll be capped at 12k. Is this just a rumor?

It's simply capped at 0. You can't penetrate into negative values.

The cap is whatever your opponent's resistances are.

There should be...but there isn't...because this is eso, where a single two handed mace ingores an entire set of heavy armor.

Rumor. If opponent has 24k resist, and you have 18k pen, the enemy will only have 6k resist on your attacks. You can bring it all the way to 0.

No cap on penetration, but there is a cap on dmg mitigation.

I guesss the devs thought its fair for someone to completely ignore your armor that you have to sacrifice to achive, but you can't forego dmg and get max dmg mitigation because reasons.

Seriously the ammount of spell armor penetration most people runing with nowdays makes all the 3 different armors pointles

Armor and resistanced only works againts new people or noobs ... againts people that play the game allot you could be naked and would barely make a difference...

This why I still wear robes on most of my Magicka based characters and Medium Armor on most of my stamina based characters.
