    Warlock.

    When you get that low on mag it's typically from being pressured, you tend to need it right away in that situation, not over the Lich regen period. Of course from pure numbers, since Lich regen boost can be further boosted by other regen boost buffs, it'll give you more resources over all.

    Burst > Ticks for pvp

    (Personally though, I would use Trainee over either)

    Lich
    Warlock: 9k per 60s -> 150 regen
    Lich: 1036 regen for 20s per 60s

    Multipliers:
    • CP: ~20%
    • Minor Intellect: 10%
    • Major Intellect: 20%
    • Ressource Buff: 20%
    • Light Armor Passive5*4%=20%
    Total: 90%

    (If you have 7 light pieces, Altmer and 100 CP perks you can get up to 1.12% additional regen, with Support or Mage's Guild skills even more.)

    1036*1.9=1968

    Amount of regen ticks:
    20/2=10
    =>19'684/60=328 regen

    TL;DR: Over the course of the whole fight Lich is more as twice as effective as Warlock. Also, at the momen the proc activates you will have between 3k and 4k magicka regeneration, so you can spam whatever skill you want and will not run out of magicka. Additionally you have at least 10k (30k/3.3=10) magicka left, so there is no immediate need for magicka, making Lich superior in all situations.

    it's not "all situations".

    1) A fight that finishes shortly after such a proc can mean that lich's regen hasn't caught up yet

    2) either set can, and should, be run so that it is only completed on one bar (because the 5 piece is just as effective if you do it). like that, or if you already had one proc earlier in the fight, it is possible that your magicka boost activates while you're much closer to 0 and actually need a burst for crucial skills.

    That said, I still prefer lich because of the higher amount and because those two are both border-cases (thoughI don't think you should include minor intellect and resource buff as well, that's not really realistic).

    True, but then the fight didn't end because of a lack of Magicka. So the additional immediate Magicka didn't give you an advantage that could be translated into results, meaning you don't loose anything by using Lich. The only situation where one set outperforms the other, is Lich being better at extended fights or several small fights in a row.

    I have a question about the Lich set. What would I pair it with for PVP? I have a Mag Templar, Mag DK, and Mag NB.

    Can we talk about the fact that this poll is mostly geared toward magica sorc in pvp and the two sets being discussed are based on sustain. Meanwhile over in stam land they be like "Regen, I don't care about regen. Check out my procs sets that proc procs, procity proc."

    I'd suggest you discuss this topic in one of its already existing threads, instead of hijacking this one.

    Depends on what kind of build you run, but for offensive build i know a that quite a lot of players combine it with Spinner's Garment. If you play on Azura Seducer or Worm might be worth a try. Otherwise I'd suggest Soulshine for Templar and Sun/Rattlecage for DK. I don't think you need Lich on DK/Templar though.

    I actually find Seducers works out better than Warlock for me, I did a small amount of testing and in the long run got more out of Seducers. The burst from Warlock is really useful in PVP though, very useful set.

    For me the thing that makes Warlock/Lich better is that you get the full benefit even if you only have the proc on the backbar, with seducer you always need to have it active if you want to profit 100% from it. This allows you to run a full monster set and two 5pc sets while using a double staff setup, very convenient for sorcerer.

    Because it's overkill and you're wasting other stats for it.

    Lich is better. Gains benefits from %mag regen sources.

    Interesting to see if Warlock is used next patch with Ice Stave blocking builds (which halt mag regen).

    I tested both on pts this last weekend for the new magic DK coagulating blood warlock will be better.
    Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

    I'd recommend BSW on all magika builds, except dw sorc and nb, that are using lich, warlock, desert rose, etc. If you're only gonna run 1 damage set it needs to be bsw or you don't have enough damage.
