Greatest PvP Skills of All: Reality Checks

Sometimes I feel the need to point out the waste of time and risks involved in rezzing some of the noobest of them all. When I rez 'you' twice in a row during a dire battle and I notice you waste my rez, as well as others', by launching yourself into a 25+ blob while we are all behind ya (and dying within three seconds again) I witness way too often how you are wasting efforts and attention that should be directed elsewhere. Do us a favour and be slightly more useful.

The more appropriate thinking should be..

There are noobs who do that yes, but instead of just leaving them and never ressing them, maybe try teaching them or helping them out a bit. For some it's their first mmo, others are only doing pvp for the first time or just to get a certain skill/set. Everyone was a noob at one point, try helping some of them out and make them into a good pvp'er

    I do. Ofc.

I always say we are all at different stages of noobness... but it keeps happening nonetheless.

While respect you have limits OP , I have none . Die all you like , if I can target your corpse your getting a Rez . Try not to turn into ash , it's hard to find on the ground .

As Ali says, rez is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact, for temps it is good for getting new sould gems

Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly

I was born with the wrong sign
    In the wrong house
    With the wrong ascendancy
    I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique

You're all missing my point really... I specified the situation I'm referring to and when it is a wasted effort in terms of the lack of positive outcomes it generates during a dire battle.

Yes, rez is not bad from a number of perspectives, agreed.

I get what you're saying OP. A lot of times I find I'm annoyed by two instances: one when I risk it to get the res off and they do what you said rather than what the group is trying to coordinate, and two when they just don't res at all then eventually decline :expressionless:...

But yes, I will always try to res regardless of level and rank.

I often do this to try to break sieges on bridges. I survive 90% of the time because of immovable pots, mist form, and a shield. Or stam dk HA god build. Imagine if there where 5 of me, deep breathing proxy bomb. I think the problem is lag combined with chickenchit players all range spamming their 1vx build instead of playing a role in a fight.

I Rez them anyway. I get reduced dmg if I Rez someone in battle and there's a chance the enemy will attack the noob giving me a chance to attack.

Sry I use them as meat shields :(.

Well I mostly Rez people because I want to be Rezzed if I die with a heated battle still nearby. Most of the time those Rezzed players pass along the same courtesy.

Other than that, I also hope that player has an ultimate ready so getting them back up could mean the difference between losing a keep, or them popping a negate/nova/etc on a large group saving us.

    It's all relevant.

I always wonder what people think about rezzing me. I often think people must find it annoying, so I try not to depend on it too much. I only stick around for a rez if my death wasnt due to ignorance or excessive risk. I know the risks when intentionally diving in to being outnumbered going into it and I dont expect other people to pay for them. Thats why I enjoy high mobility. I have absolutely no problem moving in alone either, trolling zergs and popping a few kills is the fun of it for me outside small scale. I dont come in with expectations about being saved - friendly zergs are just the easy mode zone. When I am in group I always tell people specifically not to do what I do because I like handling myself and there is no sense risking other people. I like playing high risk - thats where the action is (and also, the increasing lack of risk required by zergs is why I find them so dull)

However, if I go balls deep and die on a push that ends up mangling an enemy play, I do appreciate the rez. And I return the favour where I can

@ness1 i think there are times too where you can assess the risk and it appears manageable, but unforseen variables like RNG for example tilt the scales against you.

I think a big problem is that the game has increasingly eliminated the benefit of high risk play styles, and its boiled down to this healbot zergfest where players who move in numbers get a free pass.

Becoming better at PvP for me at least involved going from zerging to dueling and soloing for like a year straight. If you keep relying on other people to help you out you won't learn from your mistakes as much. At least in my opinion.
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

You know what my pet peeve is? I pop batswarm, proximity det, fear, spam Sap essence, and refreshing paths. Take out the ballista guy on the far side of the keep with lotus fan in the process and AD is standing at the breach doing nothing and just twiddling their thumbs.

I'm ready to go up the far side of the stairs and take out the top and ad refuses to push.

You know what else sucks? When you have an ad Zerg behind you and you are 1vxing a group you know the Zerg can wipe. And you know what ad does? They hang back, do nothing, and turn the other way.

I agree, but groups run strategy (not just AD), and the name of the game is always low risk for highest reward. Needs of the many and so forth (I dont agree with it, but fundamentally it is how it is)

    This.

It's just common sense, some call it the golden rule - treat others as you want to be treated yourself. At some point, your deeds will be remembered and will be returned in kind.

Sure, it is no guarantee for anything, but at the very least it increases your odds massively.

Worse is when you rez someone and they just sit there AFK with your rez locked until it times out (or they come back).

@Lightingale used to talk about rez-rabies when training up new healers. That's when you're a Templar in Kagrenac's Hope (back in the days of 1-second rez before they made rez-speed buffs multiplicative instead of additive), and you just *KNOW* that you can get one more rez off on the player who is *JUST* not close enough for you to be protected by the rest of the group, so you move outside of your Crown's direction to get that rez off, and *BAM* you're dead too.

    Don't get rez-rabies!

I'm gonna say the opposite here.. Rez them, dust them off and give them a nudge back in to the fray I reckon.. that's how they learn. It is very rare that I find myself rezzing the same player multiple times every battle.
