Completed Flawless VMA run, didn't receive achievement or title

So I just finished my 1st no death run of vet Maelstrom, and didn't receive the title or the achievement for doing so.

I believe it glitched out because the game crashed to dashboard while I was loading into the 7th arena after finishing the 6th, which forced me to immediately reboot the game to continue. In the process though, I didn't log into any other character, and my character never left MSA. The run began around 11:45 PM PST on 9/10 and finished at around 1:05 AM PST 9/11

I finished the run and received the full 15000 vitality bonus, which I recorded a gameclip of after the fact and will post screens ASAP. It may also be worth noting that I was still eligible for a leaderboard score, so the game doesn't appear to have been treating it as a "previously saved attempt" due to the crash like I had initially suspected.

I submitted a support ticket already as well: # 160911-000406

Is there anything that can be done about this? Or do I need to just run it again?

Thanks in advance

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Not sure if you two can handle anything on this end, but any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen similar posts in the past.It looks like If You'll get disconnection while doing vMA You'll not get no dead run achieve.

That would be a pretty major disappointment if that were indeed the case. I don't see why the players should be punished due to the lack of (though recently improved) stability in Wrothgar

Well, it's annoying, but they basicly have to handle it that way. Otherwise you could just force crash your way to nodeath.

Not necessarily. Force crashing would not make you immune to death. After a crash, the server spends some amount of time trying to resync with the local client, and during that time your character stands there and can still take damage, die, etc. (I have had plenty of no death runs fail due to a crash mid-round, and logged back in to find myself dead or with 14/15 of the vitality bonuses)

@Pepper8Jack Unfortunately, your Flawless Run was ruined due to your game crashing. Nothing else to it than that :/ really unfair and definitely hope you can run it without a death again to eventually get your title!

That really is disheartening. While I don't doubt that I'll inevitably do it again, the fact that circumstances beyond my control can so easily ruin my attempts, regardless of how well I may do, certainly does make it hard to justify continued effort towards this goal.

Nothing quite takes the fun out of it like realizing that the whole accomplishment is really just a roll of the dice.

    Thanks for the info though

Just received word from Technical Support, and the last bit should be of interest to fellow xbox players:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact The Elder Scrolls Online support team. My name is Ben, and it would be my pleasure to help guide you today, my friend. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the flawless achievement or title after completing the veteran maelstrom arena without dying for the first time. That's a major accomplishment, and I can completely understand your disappointment that you are unable to show it off with the title to go along with it.

Unfortunately, the information that players supplied in the forums was accurate. Since the flawless run has to be done in a single playthrough of the arena, disconnecting or logging out of the game during the run prevents the system from registering this achievement and title, and we do not have the ability to manually add achievement or titles to an account. The only solution is to attempt the challenge again at a later date. The good news is that the developers are aware of the situation and made this announcement last week:

"We are investigating reports from players expressing technical issues on console that can make [flawless vet maelstrom runs] difficult to achieve without re-logging, and we are working toward a resolution in the next major update."

Hopefully update 12 will take some of the chance out of this equation, and you should be able to get this title more easily in the future."

So looks like I'll be waiting for that fix to come through before I make another flawless attempt.

    Thanks everyone for the info

Alight bro, don't listen to what Ben has said - It's only partly accurate.

"We are investigating reports from players expressing technical issues on console that can make [flawless vet maelstrom runs] difficult to achieve without re-logging, and we are working toward a resolution in the next major update."

Ben has made it sound like you need to re-log to attain the Flawless title, when all you need to do is NOT pick up the quest.

If you pick up the quest and DC it counts as a checkpoint on the quest when you go back in and is almost certainly related to when they made changes to that to help players who couldn't complete the arena in one pass (IMO content should never be changed to accommodate bad players)

Anyway - Go in and DO NOT pick up the quest and you'll get the title - DC or not.

Alternatively when you're in the lobby and the quest giver and merchant are there, do a hard reset of your xbox - and then pull your power cable out for 15 seconds before turning it all back on and you shouldn't get the DC at all. (I think this might be what Ben meant by Re-Log but I've always done a full reboot because it doesn't always work otherwise)

I actually had the same issue a long time ago and got the same response - "we do not have the ability to manually add achievement or titles to an account." made me laugh - They can add items and alter everything else but they can't add a 1 to the DB under what I assume is a has_flawless_conq column - OK.

Anyway, you've done it once now so it should be a walk in the park from now on - Good luck though.
    vMSA - Magplar - Xbox EU - 15/11/16

Do it again, this time don't grab the quest. You should get the achievement even if you lag out/disconnect.

This is why I always turn to the community for answers. Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely try them out my next time through. Just out of curiosity, does you still qualify for the Leaderboard without the quest? I would assume so but you never know

I feel you pain. Was getting a great run in no deaths. Got to argonian round killed all. Got to the last boss in there and Disconnect at %10 health left. I don't have any problems in the last 2 rounds just got discouraged knowing it will probably happen again. Maybe I just won't pick up the quest and see if that helps.
