I'm at a point now, I have many sets. My point is I can have the magic regen or the damage (3100 sp) but never the edge. Unlike other classes I dont have damage, health, regen health, healing... all at the same time but I also dont seem to have the edge on my damage even with everything spec for sp.

Not only dont I have all of those thing but I dont even have the one I need damage! I can spec for magic regen and stay alive or cast forever but thats about it. Other classes can stay alive, take no damage, out put a ton of damage and have a ton of cc.

What is going on? I can spec to stay alive, magic regen or damge (sorta) but only one at a time. damage burst are too weak and short lasting and staying alive is pointless if I'm doing nothing.

Playing mag sors is a hanicap atm.

You won't have an "edge" in this meta.

The advantage atm is stamina's

There are sets that deal massive damage - for stamina
There are massive heal potential - for non sorcs (in PvP)
There is massive evasion - for stamina
Insane burst potential with out need to sacrifice stats - for stamina

You can do well, but never expect an easy match unless you're facing someone inexperienced

In the One Tamriel patch I think sorcerers might improve slightly. I think Spinner + Lich + some monster set will be stronger in PVP than what is currently available live.

The problem is though that stam characters get even stronger, so you'll still be behind. Eh. (:

That is totally the opposite to how I envision a mage. Magic power is the stam not the other way around. Mind over matter...willpower...

Oh well never mind XD Best get down the gym and forget about the books lol

I understand what you are saying. I've been maining a Sorc from day 1, still consider myself new to many aspects of the game / learning but over the last few months and past two DLC's despite my build getting better / gear getting better and earning more CP I feel less strong overall and that balance on damage or resource.

It may be that i'm CP467 and generally fight against 531's who are also way better players, before my fight choices were more equal. but there are certain things i'm struggling with. And that tends to be getting Stam'ed to death (stun / fear / knockdown) or attacking Stam players with off the chart heals so depsite huge burst DPS they just come back time and again.

I'm stubborn so will keep with it, and just blame myself needing to get better. but just concur with your feel

Yep I'm in the same boat, I've tried all things and I feel if I put everything into regen then I am really weak, if I put everything into damage the I burn through magika and potions at an extraordinary rate which forces me to use dark exchange, heavy attacks take way too long to regen anything significant and thus lowers my dps. I'm 461cp at the moment and I have put CP into regen and reduce cost of spells. Is one better than the other? Should I just max out one instead?

I don't know how people get over 40k in magika and 1200 or so in regen, I'm nowhere near those numbers with everything legendary with magika glyphs. My regen is 796 with 35k magika with food buff.

You will have a lot more options to build your gear.

Hi @Sludge04 how I understand it, and what I'm trying, is if you have high Regen, run more Into the Regen CP tree. As its percentage based

So if you try high SD and low regen its better to go 100 Into the reduce cost option. This is what I'm trying anyway and it feels better. (kinda common sense too)

I ran dual wield and resources were a nightmare. Back to inferno now and weaving in light attacks, ani cancelling a heavy etc has really helped my magika go alot further, I will say. I have restro on back bar with recover magika enchant too.

BUT to get kills in PvP its way more about burst hits I find that chipping away can be pointless.

I get that sets are going to change, it its just annoying to finally have got gold gear that was awesome at a point to be expected to change it to stay in the game.

Thanks @Beardimus now you mention it, it does seem like common sense lol! I've been pondering going restro on my back bar but I get so much SD with dual wield, I will definitely try it out though, I have one or two lying about somewhere.

It just feels like a lost cause after spending so much time creating so much gear to find its all usless and only to find that now even a stam build might not be all that anyway. I'll have to watch a youtube because it make no sence to even use stam so I'll have no idea how it could work. Along with the lag and long days, gaming is ment to be fun after a *** day not a constant slap in the face.

Try 5 black rose, 3 willpower, 2 Kena w malestrom or 1 Kena 2 tourgs if you don't have maelstrom. It works well for me. Single shield, destructive reach and curse are needed. Only use 1 toggle though. The stam return is helpful with Elder CC's offline meta. Max CP is best for this setup though. Use max health magica regen food too.

Anything over 10% reduction is diminishing returns. Put more in other places. Try getting at least 1900 regen.
