Need a piece of advice - class for pvp

Hey all. First of all i need that I can't believe i'm creating a topic, that I used to laugh at for years, while playing different mmo's.

I'm not a total newb to this game. I've been playing it for some time. When it comes to MMO I'm mostly interested in PVP, but ESO has so different PVP gameplay that I can't find class/build that will be suiting me and I need some help.

My feelings about PVP: most of cyro fights are zerg wars. im trying to find some small scale fights, but every conflict here seems to eventually turn into zerg wars (that also brings lag) - and I'm not really into being *** by 30 people. I figured out that the best class for me will be something that can keep the distance, while dealing damage and/or has good disengage.

I leveled up a stamina nightblade (bow+DW which i changed to 2h) and to be honest was having good time looking for those single targets (even sometimes losing a fight - since i'm a beginner). But when more people were around I stood no chance (yes, i saw those youtube movies, where ppl were doing 1v10 and still winning, i'm not one of them )

So i figured out that maybe I will be feeling better with Magica Sorc, leveled up one. Tried fighting - I'm super squishy even with impen items, i usually die faster then i manage to break out of CC (those pesky stamina nb's)

And now im wondering if i shouldn't be looking for more tanky class/build - Templar or DK. I really love stamina builds, love heavy armour, wielding 2h weapon and 1h+shiled. But that makes me totally melee character (I don't really like bows, can't play with bow on anything but NB) - and I kinda doubt in standing long in a fight, where i get focused by a group of enemies.

TLDR; I'm trying to find suitable class/build for me - I value survivability over damage. Don't want to get one shoted. If I'm not super tanky i need really good disengage.

I'm not totally sure if i wrote everything i wanted, but i hope you will be able to understand what I'm looking for Hope you can give me any tips

you'll probably hear it a 100 times, but, as things sit at the moment, stamina and heavy armor are pretty easy (and enjoyable) to play in cyro...

I spent a lot of time hiding in the bushes with my NB, a lot of time with my sorcerer needing binoculars to see the battle I was so far in the back of the group...

DKs and Templar's with their healing abilities and shields allow you to relax a little, stay up front and just have fun...mix your sets - one offensive, one defensive...try going for the purple regen drinks - drink one and you don't have to worry about it again for a couple of hours, plus you never want to die from lack of firing back ...

my feeling is the best races for PvP are the healthy, stamina races - orc, redguard, khajit, bosmer and imperial...

to play at range I'd suggest a nice precise or sharpened lightening staff - glyph it with poison or disease and you'll be able to reach out and fight from range, plus the heavy attacks stay connected...

@roarr - I took my Stamblade to the sewers looking for more small scale fights and have found it there.. Yes there are evenings when the EP, AD and DC zerg through areas but they can be avoided and skragglars taken care of.....

The most fun i have had in pvp was on my stam dk,

The districts in Imperial city are great fun.. mostly i run around taking the flags solo coz it is easy to do so and then wait for the other factions to come take it back,

Every now and again, more now than again gank some poor dude farming,

But it reminds me of the old days in Cyrodiil when zergs were not the meta

Well i'm still waiting for some sort player capped pvp zones aka battlegrounds.


And what are your feelings about stamina DK vs Templar

Don't be a stam Dk powerful as the are they are pretty boring just spamming dizzying swing

I think magica soc are fine, My build is mainly for group play but works well in 1v1. I use tri food and tri enchantments with food buff I have 25k health on cyro. I hardly uses shields, but relies on heal cc and skills like streak forcepulse and veliceous curse. I am no top player either so may be you just have to reconsider you build.

Well no dps build can take on the numbers of enemies you describe (unless they are lower levels or not as good)

But 3 531s of skill will take out any one build eventually.

There are tank builds that can survive numbers like that, but they usually get zero kills (maybe if someone over extends)

So what are you facing?

And, I think DKs and Temps are the some of the better tanky builds.

I rarely join big groups.

That's the problem. Tanky builds are good fun to play, but in large scale not gonna be that good. In large battles the best way is to stand far away and use ranged attacks hoping that no NB will gank you.
