Now that you can change the character appearance in game, is anyone considering aging their character as they go through their adventures, picking up a few scars, getting more tanned, hair changing shade.

My character early in the game
taarente_1.jpg

And now she has been around a bit and is maybe leaner, a bit more worn by all the quests

Just curious, its something that I find interesting how the adventure shapes your appearance.

Say please, before you AAAAAaaaarrrgghhh at me.

    Very neat idea.

    But no, not for $10.
The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?

Yeah, I had thought about making some very minor, infrequent tweaks as my characters progressed. I thought some subtle changes might work well in exchange for, say, a couple of hundred crowns each time. A pity then that the focus was on something more substantial and a price to match (though obviously great news for those who wanted this feature and are happy to pay for it). It's also a shame that worn or distressed armour effects aren't likely to be introduced. That, combined with a bit of dirt or grime on the face, hands or arms, would have appealed to me. Tamriel is so... clean, and shiny. But I digress.

Yeah I agree it is pricey for doing that sort of thing often. I had done some similar things in skyrim, course i only needed to complete some quests to get gold to be able to change appearance, not hand over actual cash.

I don't have any pictures, and because I don't have access to my computer atm, I can't even take some pictures, but I have two characters who have taken transformations.

    1. Nerwaye Auroron, who is the sister of my main, Sola, got her age toned down, and her hair changed from blonde (supposed to have been gray, but I guess my eyes don't work even though I have perfect vision) to brown. If anyone has read my fan fiction (see signature), then there's a reason for her slight changes.

    2. Another character of mine, Sanctius Luxen, underwent a substantial redesign. My original thought for his character was that he was an elderly monk who happened to be a Templar, and he was nice and sweet, docile, and his appearance reflected that; he was short, old, thin, and smiling. When I was writing my fan fiction, the character developed much differently (something I've seen before in my writings). Now, he had become a strong, tall, young person. It was more fitting in game (considering he's a man-mode Stamplar). His new apperance fits him much better, and really reflects his changed role from what I had originally planned.

I did something similar to this with my Redguard vampire, because my concept for him changed as I was playing. Vampirism made him look awful with the original design I gave him and I was initially thinking that he was going to be an old lone Alik'r-wandering assassin so designed him as such, but then I got attached to a lot of characters in the Covenant and no longer liked that idea. I loved learning more about Redguard lore and asking questions to all the NPCs about everything so I decided that being an assassin didn't suit him, he's now a very curious researcher whose curiosity led him a bit too close to that vampiric shrine in Bangkorai one night...

I don't have any pictures of him before the change as a mortal where he's not covered in some way by a hood or helmet, but this is him as a mortal now:

He used to be darker and have blue war paint (vampirism made the paint fade to the point where it looked like bruises and being the darkest shade possible as a Redguard turned him a bizarre shade of lavender, so that's why I changed them), and he was older with longer facial hair. I kept a lot of the face and body sliders similar or the same.

This is the best before and after I could do of him with stage 1 vampirism though (again, I have no before shots of him where he's not wearing a helmet or hood):
