What's up with DC and stealth?

I have 3 toons across each alliance. But never have I seen so much stealth use, there's a good amount in EP and AD, but DC? Everybody uses it! Even if you're a huge tank charger kind of player, everyone in DC always uses stealth. What's up with that? Not complaining though...

Weird! I would expect AD to the stealthiest alliance - with 2 of 3 races having Stealth passives.

I say this as a DC loyalist and it galls me to admit it but I presume you're referring mostly to DC PC NA TF.

I, too, have noticed this. There's 2 reasons:

First is that, long ago, there used to be good tactical and strategic, coordinated guilds with dedicated players. They would often leave a phalanx in stealth to flank an enemy zerg after the first group engaged. Classic strategy everyone should know.

But now DC is mostly wasting ALL effort due to uncoordinated, no-gameplan, no communication, pug zergs who once they accomplish something just stand around waiting for crown to think up the next ill-advised and campaign-losing thing to do.

Everyone who joins these pug zergs is making DC weaker. Think a bit every once in a while and consider how the campaign would be enriched if you actually thought about what your enemies are up to, what their tactics are, and where they likely will go and what they'll do. You can use stealth to simply spy on opposing guilds and watch what they do. Know thy enemy. I know I just completely wasted my time typing this, but I had to.

The other reason you see so many in stealth is that since nothing sensible is ever going on for smart, coordinated players to engage in most people are just posted up en route to Chal to gank AP and leech D ticks at the farm.

It used to be that I never left stealth when not fighting - ever. Just out of habit. When I returned to PvE I was shocked at never having to stealth and just standing around waiting for things to happen. In Cyrodiil I never, ever stopped moving to the next objective at top speed. Those were the days.

My main is a Breton NB tank.

I use stealth heavily questing just to get around all the mobs
But it's great for scouting or sneaking the tank into the right position before the group emerges

Nice for a strategic retreat too. - "He that fights and runs away, lives to fight another day" - Tacitus

DC actually outnumbers the other alliances 3-1, they just hide their numbers by going stealth :D

Using stealth wisely + good comunication is key to win. Regrouping, positioning, even respawning at a camp and moving from it in stealth so you dont give a tip where to find the camp.
