best class for emp?

Can't find any threads for this...going for emp in the next campaign and have all classes.

Thinking a magdk using elegant and molten + lit staff is just going to slay hoards of infidels that come at me with all that magika. Plus it's easy to spam heals with. What think? Would this be the best class to settle on and go for?emp with?

I think that Stam DK would be the best... They are pretty tanky, sorcs are a joke to them, they got good burst and that Shooting Star + Dragon Leap combo is just waaay too cool. But then again you should just play what you play best.

I still think that magicka sorc is the coolest class to play in PvP. Overload. Pew pew. Things die. But DKs are a problem though...

I would've saved it but unfortunately it was during the time where PvP would insta kick you to dashboard randomly. I went PvE mob slaying on those guys who came from the breech of BRK. I put my rearm trap down then fired off my arrow barrage into a smiting dawnbreaker followed with a heavy attack reverse slice and BOOM everyone went down but as soon as I got the AP gearing up for another ulti slam I get kicked out

Stam emp overall just isn't as good as mag tbh. You'll still absolutely slaughter pugs just like a mag emp will but when decent players\semi organized groups start to get involved magicka becomes best by a mile.

Exactly my thoughts. Frags have to be immensely powerful too.

On the other hand. .how many emps have done a blazing shield troll build with double health? Surely they have to be impossible to kill?

DK will still win. Just log on that 1st night and leap into each keep and cap them solo. Easy ap.

Why?

MSorc has megashields, negate, possibly bats, low ultimate cost already, mobility, and extremely high burst potential out of the box. Built correctly an MSorc vampire is the most lethal of the emp specs. Aoe and Single target monsters with near invulnerability. Having the sustain problem more modern sorc builds have solved by the increased regen makes them OP as hell.
MDK has Battle roar (with ultimates spamming from emp, it becomes the strongest sustain class bar NONE, especially with vampire) its only drawback compared to the sorc is its mobility.
MTemplar is about the same as MDK but with less overall sustain, has slightly more damage and can be way tankier, but will eventually be brought down vs ranged classes whereas the DK would not have been
StamDK is essentially the same as MDK with insanely higher burst potential, but suffers the same weakness as MTemplar in that it will eventually be ranged down.
MNB is a poor mans Msorc, basically an Msorc without the shields. Its decent, but completely outclassed by its big brother
Stamplar (see Stam DK, but with even more problems vs range)
Stamblade - Godmode for single target, absolutely trash for defending against multiple attackers. Is just like the stamplar defensively, and really only has single target damage, meaning it take this class longer than any other to actually fight off a horde.
Stam Sorc - See stamblade, take away build in resource management. One of the hardest hitting classes, yes, but makes for horrible emperors because just doubling up on stats doesnt solve their biggest weaknesses, one of them being range.

You have seriously no idea. Get emp and change to a Sap tank setup. You will maw thru everything.

You guys are saying what class is strong after you become emp, but not talking to about which class will actually get you there. Looking at the XB1 AD leaderboards for scourge, I see a total of 6 dragon knights and maybe 12 sorcerers in the top 100. The rest are NBs and Templars. Take from that what you will...

I feel like you oversell the weaknesses of certain emps a little bit--especially the range portion--as literally all emps with the exception of permablock specs will die open field if they allow themselves to be single targeted by a large group. Mag nb if played properly can be just as strong as any other spec in areas with ample interior LoS options and opportunities to use shade just because there damage is absolutely ridiculous if built for max mag. The problem with magblade is shade just doesn't stack up against streak very well and without that on demand teleport that functions independently of snares you'll find it hard to get out of bad situations in interiors. Also the main overarching problem I find with stam emps is they just lack the ability to take chunks out of groups that have decent(just large groups) or good(some medium sized groups) heals. You'll still slaughter pugs as always but nothing beats instantly disintegrating +20 or even +30 with vd.

You can be emp with any class. From spam mutagen to repair walls. If your goal is only to get emp then I suggest pick the character you want the title on. If you goal is to be emp, DKs are the natural choice because we are the only class that matters. It's not to just get emp. I've done it on sorc last year. I want to RULE as emp for at least a few days and just lay waste to everyone.

You know those times when you've fled from an emp when he's sitting there in a wedding dress taunting a 20 man zerg. ..I want to be that dude.

From all emps I ever faced I'd say DKs are almost impossible to take down even with multiple people. I'm not sure how well other classes fare against zergs but nothing is more scary than a sword and board dk emp.
