Question about resistances pvp

KoreanAwtamatic
So I've been rocking heavy armor destro resto nightblade and my gear set up is 1 heavy Kena 4 heavy elf bane 2 light viscious death and 1 viscious death destro/resto and 3 willpower jewelry.

I'm currently running all impentrable with precise on resto and sharpened on destro. I'm sitting at close to 20 k spell physical resistance and I'm curious how much of a difference I'd notice if I went reinforced on some of the heavy pieces and defending on resto staff. Will I see a noticeable difference In the damage I would be taking?

Thanks in advance, I'm on consOle so testing it our is a little bit more involved without add ons

I believe that an impen piece provides significantly more defense in pvp than reinforced. Adding a couple hundred armor is honestly not that great. In PVE, your impen gear is of course useless.

Reinforced is useless wherever you use it

You can get the same resistance in light or more. Right now I have almost 30k with 2 PC heavy but I'm also a Templar

You will notice a difference if you switch your restro to defending. nightblades don't really have burst heals so most of the time you cast healing ward and switch to you front bar so the extra crit on the back bar is kind of useless. Defending would be a better option in my opinion. Impen on the gear is fine

Unfortunately resistance still lacks in PvP cause of penetration effects and armor de-buffs.

Figure about 8% dmg reduction for every 5200 stat. 10.4k is 16% etc..

Standard pen on stam builds are around 10-15k so you're basically nekkid under that amount.

You need upwards of 25-30k to notice a difference.

Reinforced provides little to no % reduction in dmg for most pieces of armor (520 armor/spell resist is 0.8% reduction) while impen provides the best % dmg reduction for pvp.

Switch up to defending on the resto. Best small move for best gain.

I hate you btw. Ive been looking for impen elf bane gear for months now. Everyone wants 50k for it on ps4.

Not entirely true actually. On chest piece in no cp campaign, it is actually almost the same overall reduction of damage as impen. No CP means calculating with 30% crit chance and 50% crit bonus.

So yeah. In that case, reinforced is usefull. Not sure what my point is with it tho.. But there you go... ;)
