I chose nightblade because they're super fun to play as. They may not be the best DPS compared to dragonknights, but they're the best/most fun to play imo! :~)

Nightblades, DK's and Sorcs are all at a peak performance nexus with current available gear, stats and skills. Stamplar is not trailing too far behind.

In terms of tanking, DKs don't need to prove usefulness.

Stamplars, haven't really played one.

Nightblades have shade for a easy Minor maim, Mirage for tankiness, and rely on a spammable attack for their defense and their sustain should come from Siphoning attacks. All in all, prob the most aggressive tank.

I don't see sorcs being potent enough, it feels like they are missing something to bring to the group. They have sustain with Dark deal, can give Minor prophecy and can heal with pets, but you have access to Vigor anyway, so...

For vMA, they all have their "thing".

I call it draw between DKs and NBs, sorc being behind. That said, not being the best doesn't mean that you can't succeed (also, you're free to prove me wrong).

My last mmo was all about the monk! There is no pure viable melee/non magic using class here (only magic and hybrids) so I tried nb. Couldn't get into it. Loving the sorcerer though. Stamina sorcerer might not be the "best" but I'm having fun so it's the best for me.

Stam sorc for me survives everything. Nkw my stam dk is my single target one shot champ stacking viper bleed empower and wrecking stacks up to 40-60k if all crit at once

Not really, in fact Stamina Nightblade is stronger than both for DPS, check Gilliam's post.

It depends which can actually blasts out a 50k and upward single dps hit. I've seen a couple sorc take out a mammoth and giant with about 3 hits each.. same with a couple NB I ran into by that Zandun, what his name is, world boss pit in Wrothgar. Those mammoths and giants have, what, about 133k health each. So, those dudes or dudettes have to be pulling 50k plus dps, for each (non-stealth) hit. I'm not sure if they were stam or majicka, and maybe I could be wrong, but I'm not sure if a stam DK can dish out that much dps (in a non-stealth attack) single hit.

'Best' is subjective... for me the 'best' is what I consider the most fun to play... and I only play PvE Quest content. I think a Stamina Sorc offers a lot of variety of options, and variety keeps me playing... I get bored using the same abilities over and over and over again over 100's of hours of gameplay.

In terms of PvE DPS, I'd say its DK and Sorc. They are very similar as they both rely on layering DoTs. Primary difference is Poison Claw and Hurricane (which are very similar as well: damage becoming higher the longer the ability has been active). Then DKs have Corrosive Armor which is amazing for DPS. Sorcs have more ressources (8% stamina from Bound Armaments). So these are my top picks for stamina DPS in all group content.

In terms of PvP, all of them are good but highly dependant on the player. Nightblades and Templars are what I think the best stam classes in PvP and the hardest to kill when they are played right. Most Sorcs don't know what the hell they are doing and DKs aren't mobile enough.

Now my favorite class is sorcerer. Be it magicka or stamina. So it was a quick choice for me. Although stam Sorcs are quite strong, they still lag behind the other classes mainly because they don't have anything apart from Hurricane, Dark Deal, Streak and Power Surge to support them in PvP or PvE. No physical damage ultimates, no debuffs, no utility (apart from a few CC).

So yeah buff stam Sorcs (Sorcs in general to be honest) and buff magicka classes everything will be fine. Right now its pretty boring as everyone uses the exact same abilities/weapons/sets. So throw a bone to magicka classes so we can have some variety.
