I've recently been leveling a new DPS character, after getting my tank to CP448.
Hopefully, at this point I vaguely know what I'm doing, so I've been holding off crafting new gear for as long as possible. But... I've also been doing a lot of PvP on this character, and I'm fully aware that at level 48, I might as well be wearing tissue paper and wielding a pair of wet noodles when I look at my level 34 gear...
Common sense is telling me to hold off for another couple of levels, craft myself some CP160 gear and never look back. But I'm really enjoying the non-vet campaign and I'm also painfully aware that I suck at PVP, and I can't for one second imagine that things will get easier as soon as I gear out and hit the vet campaign...
Anyway, I'm not really sure what the point of this post is, other than to say that as soon as I hit 50, there will be a giant leap in gear quality and effectiveness, which will be great for dungeons, but will also push me into the real world of PvP.
I guess at the end of the day, unless I craft some level 48 gear, I'll never know whether I suck at PvP because of my gear or because I just suck (most likely scenario). It's hard to get better when your gear is garbage, but is it really worth crafting new gear every few levels? Do people stockpile gear sets for twinking new toons, or does everyone just run around in old mismatched junk? Does the scaling even take into account the disparity between player level and gear level, or am I just looking for a way to excuse my poor PvP performance?
I'm talking about the non-vet campaign here, which has an "end", as opposed to the vet campaigns that don't have an expiration date on equipment.
