Best builds- for lag. Is it even possible?

Simple but tricky question. My computer is pretty low end, but pvp is addicting. I'd like to contribute as much as I can to my alliance's effort despite this.

I know some builds require MORE exact timing and quick maneuvers, but are there any that use...less? Any ideas on how that would work?

Haha I'd be interested to see if anyone has a decent build for lag. Especially for the lagstrom arena.

For very laggy PvP, avoid skills that have a cast time.

Get into a decent group. Play a beast mode CC-tank with fasallas.

5 black rose, 2 malubeth/2 engin, 5 fasallas.
x3 block cost redux enchants.
50pts in shadow ward.
FULL impen.
run defensive posture on defensive bar
run major/minor defensive buffs.
Run immovable pots.
38-40k life, 30k stamina, 25k resists, 2.5k impen. You are the immovable object. Blocking literally costs like 100-200 stamina. If you are DK, battle roar and igneous shield will restore so much stam you will never need to release block.

1. See potato zerg, shield rush in.; drop caltrops and start spamming talons.
2. Hold block and chug immovable pots.
3. Watch them all burn while they potato around you and you drop standard.
4. Get your group to bake these potatoes with siege/negates.
5. Get broom, sweep in all dat AP and rage tells.

Win. Lag-proof build. When screen freezes due to lag just sit on right mouse button. Its going to take an army to kill you with that build. And yes, it works just as well without malu. Just dont use it on a templar or the rage tells will make your eyes bleed. I use it on a DK. So far no broken ticks observed.

Best way to avoid lag unfortunately is not to group . Turn particle effects down to minimum tolerance and any class will do . The particle effects can be turned up or down in video settings .

I agree with op. I have wondered this also. I spent 500k. To find builds that could work in laggy pvp. It is also odd. That Scourge PS4 EU is laggy. But hardly anyone there.

+1 op for asking this question. Sadly however. I not want to. But it good chance. Since I'm wood elf dk. Since I'm so laggy as op. That I might be forced into being a ganker. I don't want to. I like to be really close. But I understand it's unavoidable.

Anything ranged seems to be wonky when the game lags so if you can get close and actually hit them it might be better

Sadly there is no option for PS4 pvpers. Least I don't think there's an option? I agree. Sadly don't go into groups and voice chat. Does pc have voice chat?

Thanks for the answers, all. Though since obviously I'm not the only one in this boat, more imput is always welcome!

For me personally, I already play with everything on min settings for pvp. I have some hardware limitations and I know it lol.

I started out pvp with a healing templar with the super pro strategy of running around, breath of life-ing and healing springs whenever possible, and just accepting that I was going to melt if I got focused at all.

Healing is what I've done in most games. I wouldn't mind trying a new roll/playstyle, but would involve even...figuring out what my roll in groups would be. I do *like* groups. (Sadly, as far as my beleaguered computer goes.)

Magic nightblade with proxy and vicious death. And go vampire for bats. Takes no skill while getting aoe kills in pure lag.

Many posters here confuse lag with Frame drops.

Lag is a network issue (bad network coding and/or too many ability checks server side most of the time)
Frame drops is a computer/console issue (video and audio parameters)

I wanted to post a similar thread : how I configure my bars.
Avoid Dragon Leap (does not work in lag)
Avoid Charge (does not work in lag)
Avoid AH heavy attacks (does not work in lag)
Avoid trying to activate synergies (does not work in lag)
Avoid Bar swaps (does not work in lag)
...

Maximize low to no skill abilities like Radiant Destruction if you are Templar.
Use Passive 5pc sets like Reactive Armor
Play in Zergs
...

Yeah... use an ability that requires skill, like Ambush, Surprise Attack, Dizzying Swing. Those skills are for pros only.

I disagree, due to the way proxy works now & you have to hit 11 people or so for proxy to do any "real" damage; I believe it takes quite a bit of skill to pull off whether in lag or not. (especially if you add the number of things we have to dodge to get into position ie.. hurricane etc...)

Magicka DK, 5pc Infallbile Aether + 5pc vicous Death + vMA Lightning staff. Just stand in the back and hold attack. Cheese build but works great on laggy campaigns.
