What sets to run on a stam nightblade

So I made this wood elf nightblade before dark brotherhood came out. I'm not sure what to run as a stam blade now. I'm really not a fan of the eternal hunt. I find that lame. Is hundings still viable? Hundings and nightmother? I had hundings/nightmother and bloods pawn helmet before. Just not sure what to run on this

Depends on your play style. Sets like Vice Cannon are only viable if you play a mostly stealthy role. Hundings is a better choice if you're more of a stand your ground type. Eternal Hunt or Skirmisher is decent if you enjoy breakdancing entire fights.

Figure out your play style then you'll have an easier time picking gear. You can't just copy someone else's setup and expect the same results. Being; wearing Vice Cannon is detrimental to a build if you're not attacking from stealth. In same case Skirmisher is detrimental to a build if you don't roll dodge often.

The easiest copy/paste build out there is;
1x or 2x Bloodspawn (with 1x Kena)
5x Hundings Rage (or 5x Alchemist)
3x Agility
1x vMA 2H
1x vMA Bow (or 2x vMA 1h or 2x Endurance, etc.)

Can replace the weapons and monster helm/shoulder with Nights Silence if you do not have the monster sets.

Gear? Stamblades dont't need gear. Just go to Cyrodiil naked and spam Incap. You will be fine.

Yes. I couldn't drop Night's Silence until I became a Vampire.

There are many trades I'm willing to make in order to maximize damage. Slow sneak speed isn't one of them.

I like the combo of vice cannon and viper. The extra damage/heal from the fast dot ticks can be reapplied with a simple cloak--> ambush. It helps put pressure on the target and relieve some pressure on you. I've done lots of ganks from stealth with a simple ambush, viper proc, incap strike. If that don't kill them, the combo of a surprise attack and vice dot ticking away takes them out.

Figure out how you want to move and how you want to deal damage and then pick sets accordingly.

Does vice cannon work from stealth? If so is this intended? If it only works crouch like I remembered seeing on PTS, then it's garbo.

Yea, works from stealth, I've done it many times.

Problem for me is if vice cannon procs u can't go back in stealth.... so if u don't kill them u can't escape... i didnt like that I could even use shadowy disguise when it's proceed

Yea, this is a known bug and believe it or not it goes both ways. Other person can't stealth either. Hope it gets fixed, but 9/10 times I manage to kill them without needing to go in stealth.

I run 5 Vice Cannon, 5 Marksmen and 2 Kena on my stamblade archer. Love this set combo. However, you are right on the stealth issue. The heal knocks you out of stealth until it is over. I don't run cloak and don't usually try to get away, so doesn't really bother me. Fight to the death!

5 Cleaver Alchemist is nice too for a little more health and more damage if you run potions a lot.

Thinking of running a stamblade too, my first ever stam build since release lol. Looking for something that has good damage but I want it to be able to sustain in 1/2vX and solo play. Any tips?

Very interesting setup. How's it work for you? Is vicecannon not a dead 5pc once the proc ends -- like a kill them quick or you're screwed set?

But...it's a dot. It's not a burst set. Were you using it trying to one shot people?

Depends.. its broken against nightblades right now. The DoT will kick nightblades out of cloak.. but the set also happens to kick the user out of cloak also... so running in on a nightblade in general is kind of weird right now. This set has been broken for awhile now, however the bug can make ganking nightblades easier... unfortunately.

This set tied into Poison Injection just melts people though. It's 100% a good set for Bow builds who wanna be skirmishers. The DoT is also un-purge-able (probably why cloak doesn't suppress it).

It takes u immediately out of cloak if already proced. But u can reapply with shadowy disguise once it wears off

I like eternal hunt + Skirmisher on my bow build for all the synergies!

Also I want to try velidreth with viper for all the bursts!

Ive been running 5 hundings, 5 marksman, 1 kena for about a month now. Good sustain and good damage.

Thinking of trying out 5 hundings (or nightmothers), 5 viper, 1 kena. I'll go dw and 2h buff bar. Just alil tired of bow atm

It can be reapplied with cloak or clouding swarm. Crouching only works if hidden, so the set is not really good for players without the first two ability's ive stated. You could use invisibility potions if you wanted as well.

No. That is a PvE setup. You'd have next to no noncrit damage because you'll lack max stam and weapon damage. Other players' I mpenetrable + shields will mitigate a ton of your crit damage, making hour crits a mediocre source of damage at best.

Also you'll lack sustain unless you start using regen jewelry glyphs, which is inefficient compared to using damage glyphs.

Argonian is a fine race, too. Build max stats to amplify your potion passive. And then use potions on cooldown -- that is a huge source of sustain. Also play in a way that takes advantage of your healing passive. An argonian with rolling vigor and rally and blood craze heals is quite tanky. One of my guys only plays Argonians, and his nightblade is an absolute beast.

In other words, embrace your strengths and build on them. Don't assume that just because you're playing a different class than the meta that you will automatically be subpar.

Vicecannon/marksman for archer.

Alchemist also goes nice with those sets

the above mentioned gear sets are good for dps, but not balanced between dps and sustain, so it may make you a good ganker, but not a great player generally.
