I was in a fight last night, mid-sized, and at any given time I could see 5-6 RD beams criss-crossing my field of vision.
Outside of the pvp "Jesus Beam killed me, nerf it" crap on every other thread, the only thing that has changed with DB, is now thaurmaturg CP does not effect either kind of Jab.. so that nerf kinda sux.

I've found Ritual of Retribution to be a great NB reveal. I didn't know about the Thaumaturge change...no good.

Yup which was promised numerous times by ZOS to be a bug and fixed by DB live.

Really? How is it a bug? That's like saying Caltrops revealing NB's is a bug. Ritual of Retribution is essentially magicka healing caltrops with the Sacred Ground passive.
Don't even have to come between them, I've had mine shoot way off behind me at someone I wasn't even aware was anywhere near.
I can see that most fellow Templars use a staff but I'm really undecided: what are the pros ^ cons of Destro VS. resto? I'm a trying to lv up a magplar
What's your build and stats? Are there specific builds or situations giving you trouble? And do you want to solo, small group or large group/zerg surf?

My current build is based off of this, I know it is outdated, but it was a start.

My gear is different though due to me not having access to his, I have 4/5 magnus, 5/5 seducer, my DW is 2 set Torags. (Though, my gems and enchants are the same as his)
Ability bar is the same I believe.
I used to run all light armor before, in which i was pretty good with mana, but when I went off thie guide my mana management has taken a serious dive due to less light armor for the passives. I thought the heavy armor would add to survivability, it does. I get 3 shot instead of one shot haha.
I have only 134 CP,
R
27 Resistant
6 Hardy, Elemental Defender, Quick Recovery
G
22 Magician
21 Arcanist
2 Mooncalf
B
20 Elemental Expert
12 Elfborn
6 Spell Erosion, Thaumaturge
In Cyro, being scaled to 150, i have 22.3K Health, 20.2 Mana, 8.8K Stam. 1.2K Mana recovery.
I'm looking to be able to deal damage and not die on my lonesome. My Dark flares hit for a whopping 3k, and RO tickles too (while under 50%). I tack myself onto large groups pretty frequently and I can do alright at supporting for a bit before I eternally oom.
TLDR
I want to be able to kill&survive when I'm by myself but still be able to help in any way in groups. If all else fails I wouldn't mind sacrificing all my damage to make myself a really tanky healer, why not.
EDIT: The house tactic also sounds interesting. Not 100% on how that goes but I have a pretty decent idea.

20k magicka? That's a typo, right? I hope?
Don't use a PvE guide. @Alcast 's "Transmutation" build isn't a bad place to start. Your low CP is going to gimp you if you are playing a CP campaign, but hang in there.
Without emp buffs, etc., I run 23k health, 35k magicka, 16k stam, 2k crit resist, 1200ish magicka regen and 2400+ unbuffed spell damage in Cyrodiil with 3 Willpower (2 regen, 1 damage), 5 Julianos impen, 2 Skoria, 2 Torugs Pact DW in one bar and a sub-par Malestrom lightning destro on the other. I use prismatic enchants on 3 large pieces and tri food.
I am by no means an elite player or theorycrafter, but I hit fairly hard and have good survivability, even though 23k health feels kinda low. I win most 1v1s with similarly skilled players and survive and kill most gank attempts. This is a solo/zerg-surf DPS build but I provide off heals and purges and can zerg dive to a certain extent. Impen is just not negotiable in PvP.
Tanky group-oriented healers will probably want to run Transmutation and maybe Malubeth. The Transmutation group buff is awesome and Malubeth (even after they fix it) will provide some wiggle room for surviving long for your group to come to your rescue.
Good luck. I am still constantly adjusting my build and skills but have been pretty happy with this basic setup so far.

Put 75 cp points in thaumaturge, cast channel focus to get heal buff and entropy to get empowerment.
Use toppling charge or vampire bane/dark flare( if toppling charge doesn't work, Dark flare is also good against dodgerollers+ vigor spammers) then use puncturing sweeps and lastly RD.
or use DF then RD.( when you apply a dot like vampire bane and cast RD that player will melt fast, although posion injection is the best dot in this game)

I keep changing stuff up, trying to find the right balance of damage/survivibility for me. But it's usually something like:
Destro:
Entropy - Javelin - Channeled Focus - Dark Flare - Radiant Oppression
DW:
Sweeps - Toppling Charge - Lingering Ritual - Breath of Life - Rapids or Magelight

Given how dominant DC has been in Haderus lately, I'm thinking of rolling an EP Magicka DK. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Unfortunately, that would probably mean losing a guild that takes this faction stuff more seriously than I do, so I haven't decided yet. I don't really want to play in TF or Azura's.
I am also going to try Kags/Transmutation for more tankiness but less damage.
There are many viable options with this class. I think I'm going to go broke playing with builds until I find the porridge that is "just right."

When I went to respend my skill points the cost seemed to be only 1 gold a point rather than 100, I don't know if thats new or not or a one timve thing or what but I enjoyed that! I remember spending like 15K to reset my skill points before.
Anyway, I assume you're on PC? It's a shame because if we were somehow on the same platform to play together I'd have offered to make you whatever crafted sets you'd like! I'm on Xbox One - NA by the way.
