Magika DK High Elf DPS

Hi, as of today, I am running a magic dk High Elf. I am having some problem choosing between heavy and light. Any advice for build and set combinations?

For straight dps, light. You get more penetration and crit.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same but I need to find a way to have a bit more live cause now I cap to 19000 with potions.

Use a restoration staff backbar with healing ward and mutagen. That will keep you alive in light armor.

This build is really nice. Do you think it would be better instead of five magnus 3 of them e 2 skoria for more health and pressure on the enemies?

For the life of me I will never understand the purpose of running two swords on magic builds over a staff.

You burn through resources too fast with no way of regening them with heavy attacks unless you bar swap. U don't get to take advantage of the flame passives when using swords and Staff heavy attacks can be pretty strong by itself.

I know most of the DK skills are mele range but with no gap closer look at how much DPs you are missing out on while you are walking up to your opponent

Chains is an available gap closer now. It works as often as other gap closers, except for the fact that dodging prevents you from being pulled to the opponent (annoying). Some DKs don't think they need one, wanting opponents to come to them or prevent escape while in melee range. With all the snares though, I feel I need one, so I use chains (plus I think using chains is cool af)

I've been using chains on my new magdk and I've got to say it's pretty reliable. Only thing is in heavy I feel like my magicka depletes way too quickly. I've got my mag regen to 1795. Thinking if I push it higher with some transmutation jewelry may help. Too poor to pop potions all the time.

I'm playing mag DK in pvp and it's not too strong but good enough. I'm on 3k spell damage buffed, 34 mag with 1.4k unbuffed recovery, 14k stam, 24k health. I'm running 5 kagrenac heavy, 3 willpower, 3 transmutation, 1 kena. Using chains as gap closer and root+ deep breath. I don't play it everyday so it's untested to a large extent but it's working quite good in pvp when ever I feel bored of Templar. It seems a well rounded build. I use pots and with continuous attack buff, I sit on about 2k recovery too.

Thanks to everyone for the good advice I will probably go for Destro and Resto. I have still to decide between kagrenac julians and twice born. Any idea? Willpower of course full arcane and probably 2 damage out of three with julians and 3 with the others.

I am mDK using 3 will power, 5 kags, 2 torugs , torugs resto, 2 scoria, its fun

having another person pref a healer helps a ton

I'm still learning though, swapping skills looking for a nice combo
