Trading guilds without fees?

Trading guilds charging weekly membership fees seems to be becoming a big thing lately, and I cant say I'm at all thrilled at the idea. For less-than-hardcore players, read that as casual if you like, it can be difficult to even meet weekly sales quotas, and now we're having to give up a portion of whatever profits we may make just to stay in the guild?

I know at the root of the problem is the POS guild trader system zenimax insists on continuing with, but this is really starting to effect players who dont have 8 hours a day to throw into a video game. At this point I cant even find a guild with a store to sell off extra materials I come across without barely breaking even in the process, I might as well vendor this crap now.

Guilds don't need to charge fees to have a trader.

Pact Veteran Trade PC EU has a Craglorn Trader on a regular basic and doesn't charge fees.

You just need good management, education of members on what to sell etc.

I hear you, @Lynx7386. I joined a couple guilds that does not charge a fee, but it seems these guilds' store are not or at least not yet showing up at any location. It seems those that are charging up those high weekly fees are the one that do have a set location. I'm not quite sure how it works on how guilds bit on the locations. I'm sure, like any real world businesses, there is some kind of a fee for getting the bit and securing the location.. but yes, there is no need to charge such high of a membership fee or dues, especially when such guild have hundreds of members. Of course, you have to build up your guild treasury, so I am more in favor of smaller membership dues, a weekly donation or some kind of in-game fundraising, such as a raffle that I read a guild does weekly.

When trader bids cost 500k for low pop areas and 2.5 mil for capital cities how exactly is the guild supposed to pull that in? If you want a no fee trader try AFK, Seepuh is awesome. They just have a 5100 gold fee to start but after that no fee, he has a trader most weeks.

The akaviri [PC] guilds (Akaviri Exports, Akaviri Imports, and Akaviri Union) don't have fees but do have low sales quotas or low raffle participation amounts.
