Heavy Weapons Bleed Not Procc'ing off Certain Abilities

It procs of stam abilities like Ambush and Surprise Attack but not Jabs. Also Nerienth faces the same issue. Is there any reason why Jabs will not proc the Heavy Weapons bleed from a two handed axe?

What is the range of Jabs? If the skill goes beyond what is considered melee range (5-7m I believe) it shouldn't proc. You can see an example of this when you spec whirling blades vs steel tornado. Steel tornado can't proc axe bleed do to it's increased range.

It is 8 meters so I can see that part of the reason why it will not proc axe bleed. BUT...

Damaging an enemy with a Melee attack restores X stamina (Redguard Passive). Which will proc with jabs. So in that regard, jabs is a melee ability regardless of its AoE. But take note of this "melee attacks 8% chance to apply a bleed dealing physical damage over 6 seconds" which is the wording of the 2H passive tree for axes.

The game has one passive considering jabs as melee, while the other does not. @susmitds ?

Yeah, it super sucks that jabs doesn't proc the bleed.

@ZOS_GinaBruno if one ability is considered melee in one passive, but not in another, this should be a bug that should be fixed with the game reading things differently for a class and their abilities no?
