Is argonian Nb bad for magica Nb ?

Why not consider an Argonian potion build centered around short, yet extremely high burst damage with the Clever Alchemist set?

Cause people don't understand how Clever Alchemist Works.

Otherwise they wouldn't suggest Argonian for a high burst potion build.

Argonian worked with this type of setup when Potion Eff was a thing..However the Argonian Passive now just gives you passive Health/Magicka/Stamina return when you a potion...And generally if you're going for burst..like a VD setup with CA you pop it while at full health/stamina/magicka so you get zero benefit for it.

The Argonian Race isn't super great...It honestly works better as a Tanking type Templar for its heal passive...For example if ya wanted to do a Blazing Shield Spamming type build..it wouldn't be that bad....

It depends on what you are making it for. First of all, Ive never seen a build completely fail because you didn't pick the most ideal race. The performance swing on racial choice is not very big. But Bigger IS bigger, so if you planned on being "the highest bestus dps magicka NB I can BE!" then you probably picked the wrong race. Can Argonians make good DPS? Absolutely!! But if you played 1 argonian and 1 high elf magicka NB, the DPS numbers would be higher on the high elf version.

But best DPS is not everything. Argonian has plenty of value. The Increased self healing really shows and allows you to DPS comfortably. They currently have great sustain from their potion passive. They make one of the best Sap tank race choices.

People say Argonian sucks for 2 reasons.

Reason 1. It isn't equal in power to the best races, and they want to draw ZoS's attention to this disparity.

Reason 2. It isn't the absolute best race for many roles. Many people believe if it isn't the obvious best choice, then it might as well be worthless guttertrash. The reality if far less dire.

People say it sucks because it does...Argonian basically is only good for exactly one specific Spec in this game..a Blazing Shield Templar. Trust me..when they offer a race change for my NB...I'll most certainly be going to a high elf ....Its just simply the best race for Magicka NBs.

The increased self healing while great is easily made up by simply having 10% more magicka then an Argonian....Not only will it increase your heals..it will increase your damage as well.

Argonian can play anything fine but you won't be the best at anything you'll have more options than other classes if you feel like you wanna switch from stamina or magic. I have a templar dk and nb they all work fine for pvp

I agree with what you are saying and the effect of racial passives is much more profound than @gottbeard makes it out to be, but there is one other build. The self-healing build with willowstwilight, the swallow soul 8%, etc.
