Update 9 made PVP awesome...

...as in awesomely unplayable, awesomely annoying and awesomely unfun.

Let's start with the glitches. I ran with my friend in the sewers last night. After eight game freezes between us, we left. Ugh.

Then we add the idiotic move with Azura's. Now all the players are piled into the other campaigns, so they're all glitchy. Why would you ever think the vet campaign where vets run and are very proud of their 500 CPs would be a good place to make non-CP??? The result was utterly predictable.

Then we add the REALLY IDIOTIC move with Vicious Death and Magelight. "But these will break up Zergs," you say? OF COURSE THEY WON'T. Now the sewers are full of 10+ zergs where three people are running VD and half are popping Magelight over and over. There is no place to hide for any non-zerg players - not any class with any ability. PVP was suffering from gangs, and the geniuses in the dev team just handed out free submachine guns and radar to them.

ESO PVP had become massively deserted, wide open spaces with no incentive to defend or play, with the occasional Zerg rounding the map. Now it's that same issue, just crashing all the time with more powerful Zergs. If you want to fix PvP, ZOS, you have to CHANGE THE GAME. Offer incentives and challenges to defending keeps. Offer game mechanics that break up Zergs, not make them more powerful. And make stealth stronger, for all classes, by killing Magelight and offering new sneak skills.

Thus far, update 9, from pvp changes to skill changes to the Thieve's Guild content, is a bomb and a rip off. And I'm sorry to say that, because Thieve's Guild is my favorite storyline from Skyrim and Oblivion. But here we are - epic fail.

Viscous Death is great. Magicka Det scaling is not.

Mage Light change was bad. Radiant Mage Light should work like the old one.

Forward Camp's was a good change. Makes attacking and defending great imo. Its not over until you clear the camp's out.

Making the most competitive server on PS4 at least a no-cp campaign was bad (Azura).

Everyone is using Magicka Det even small scale. Bad.

No stamina while moving in stealth or sprinting even though was said to be a bug was not an issue. Bad change. This was just another way of nerfing stamina builds.

Overall id say the update was 50/50. Some good some bad.

I think Cyrodiil has improved with TG patch. Seems to be a bit less laggy than before. That said, I'm not often online during peak hours. Or on Trueflame. :|

I honestly have no clue how anyone other than solo or small group zergsurfers concerned with nothing but ap\hr can think this patch is half decent.

Well, before TG I was told I would RQ because skill will actually matter now.

    Yet here I am...dur.

After 4 - 5 hours in Azurra only one laggy moment when all 3 factions where fighting over the same castle .
Vicious death and detonation , yes but still i killed a few as well thanks to cloak and ambush ;)
Imperial city no lag at all , but hey maybe because its sunday night on ps4 EU ..
Overall game performance pve : the same if not slightly better in my opinion

But that's just my experience so far , heard from a couple of guys in Cir having serious game freeze's and unable to relog . they stopped playing that evening and cameback the next day and no lag or freeze anymore . sounds a bit RNG..

    Just my opinion here

A few details aside, such as the change to Magelight, I think it's been a good update. Before long, ZOS should consider adding another server.

I have to say, though, I am so sick of the over-the-top, uncivil criticism on these forums. So you want to register your complaints, fine. But why not be nice about it? Why get sarcastic and nasty? Please.

The Mage light change was great. The alternative was to directly nerf NB. I agree this would have been preferable. The VD and Azura star move was idiotic. VD is a cancer thar ruins team play.

    Viscous Death is great.

Is this some new set that causes water damage? I'm unfamiliar with it. Sounds OP though.

edit: now that I see your name this is even more funny

Say WHAAAAAAAT?! THIS PATCH IS GREAT. Now...there are lag issue worse than ever before, I think they made it worse for zergs than before, can't do ANYTHING in a zerg. I am always forced to leave when a lot of peeps show up. IC is bad because of the non stop mob spawns. But proc set and viscious death? Only people whod be pissy about THAT combo are "zergsurfers" as you say. I think it worked out fine, stay away from zergs, when you run across them *** them up when they aren't looking. Two people can wipe a 12 man raid in three *** seconds. That is a big middle finger to zergs from zos. So...basically quit bitchin and learn to play the new meta. Its a fun meta that does NOT encourage zerging. Although running zergs is still effective, most fun is not running with them, so...once they fix IC you wont have nothin to complain about.

Oh yeah, and mage light change? Could last longer...but I think its a VERY good change, the less I need to double bar it the better, and I don't need it on both bars. Keep it as is.

mhm... This video shows how balanced magicka NB + VD + Proxy Det + Ultimate is....

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/256253/rofl-dont-know-who-this-is-but-man-the-bomb-i-dream-about#latest

    Your funny man.
Fix to zergs = reduce the amount of people can join groups and allow groups to form based on population of the server.
Reduce damage of AoE skills, get rid of VD or reduce the damage output by 70% (23k damage on a gold piece tooltip... a ultimate drop for every kill. Balanced?), Reduce the damage of proxy det and increase the cost.
Oh, and i forgot.. Update 9 = RIP Vampirism. (Fix clouding swarm (dosent grant invisibility), and balance the counter7benefits on the line (why WW gets benefits with no counter, while Vamps get counters with no benefit...), Rework fighters guild skills in PvP (snipe + camofluaged hunter + silver shards.... Pointless to be a vamp)

Bet you play a NB. Make it so other players do not group so don't have to worry about other players healing each other. That way you can perma stealth and spam one button to kill other players with ease.

I've always wanted an instant death simulator, and now I have one! The lag is so bad that you can get hit by 7 attacks and see NONE of them. Ever wanted to get hit by a fire ballista and burn to death from full health without even knowing that you're burning? Now you can! The damage numbers won't even pop up... the server just decides that you're dead, and you get a notification after the fact.

Dont forget, now you blow up viciously after death, killing the people around you as well!

Azura rocks. Best campaign for Cyrodiil by FAR (at least on EU):

    - Only lag in peak hours and still playable.
    - Longer fights. if you go tanky you really feel tanky, not like in trueflame where you die in 2s anyway.
    - Vicious death-detonation combo isnt that deadly. The amount of dmg CP ads is just insane.
    - Players forced to more balanced builds (try to get here without regen at all in your gear).
    - Unmitigated by CP siege dmg hurts, as it should be when you get a burning rock on your head.
    - Less farming balls groups (although i don't know if still exists in Trueflame).

    There are some problems tho:

    - AD dominance. Being the most populated at most of the timezones has kept the map hevilly towwards AD (im AD), having most of the emperors. Im afraid this could killl the campaign in the long run.
    - IC is empty. Trying to fight IC mobs without CP is really, really hard, so no farmers ther=no gankers there= noone there.

Anyway, really good feelings in Azura, it resembles how the game was pre 1.6, the update that introduced the 1 shots, infinite dodge rolls, permablocking.... All tied to CP and cause of a lot of changes, many not wanted by players (some pvp, some pve).
