Werewolf Tips and Tricks

Ok, so I started a new character and became a Werewolf for the first time- even though I've been playing ESO almost a year. The one thing I wish I would have known from the start is that in order for the Devour passive to work, you actually have to wait until the animation completes. Here I was running around thinking it wasn't working, only to realize that I wasn't waiting for the animation to complete before rushing off to kill something else. So it seems there is more to know about being a Werewolf than simply slotting skills and pushing buttons. ;)

Which brings me to the point of this post... for people to add their own helpful tips or things they've learned about being a Werewolf that could help noobs like me figure things out faster than 'trial and error'.

One of the things I'm curious about... what passives or other benefits do we take with us into Werewolf form from our existing humanoid character? I've heard that you should transform on the bar that has the highest weapon damage, but what other passives carry over or other things we should consider in regards to transformation?

Notice that above the magicka bar, there is a tiny blue bar which is actually your werewolf timer. When the devour animation has finished, you can also tell that you definitely have counted that devour when the bar goes up. Keep an eye on the timer! Its really useful :)

Also, for people that may not know, you can become a white werewolf if you choose the Pack Leader morph of the ultimate. This also helps add time to ally werewolves transformations. The Berserker option allows you to do more damage instead, but does not have a skin colour change as of yet.

All of the werewolf passives are extremely useful, get them as soon as possible.

One thing I've seen people ask about the Bloodmoon passive, the one allowing you to bite others, is that once they unlock it, do they have to wait 7 days from that point? Well, no you don't, the timer starts once you bite someone the first time. And you can always see how much time you have left on the bite cooldown by going to your character screen and looking at your active effects. When the "Bitten Ally" timer disappears, you are able to bite again :)

I might think of more tips later and will add them if I do :)

Yeah, the little blue bar, that's how I figured out that I wasn't doing Devour correctly. ;)

Still curious about the weapon bar though. Some people say to transform on the 2H bar because of extra damage, but I use DW on my second bar and my DW has higher critical and weapon damage. So wouldn't I be better off transforming from the DW bar?!?

If that's the case then yes I think that would be the better bar to transform with.

I did find this post in an old forum thread, he said that we lose weapon passives during transformation. That would suck because the passives in both 2H or DW would be awesome combined with WW. ;)

Been a Werewolf for nearly a year now. One thing to remember is that weapon enchantments carry over to your Werewolf form. Also once you get to morph your skills, Hircine's Rage (heals and increases weapon damage by 10% for 17 seconds) and Rousing Roar (increases weapon damage by 20% for you and allies) stack. So you can get 30% weapon damage for 4 seconds which is extremely brutal.

    Agreed.

I'd also suggest checking out this werewolf guide video that one of my guild mates created, its very useful and even I learned something new! :)
