Can someone help me understand the "Stamina nerf" incoming with the Thieves' Guild DLC?

Hi there!

I returned to the game recently and have rekindled my romance with Nirn. I've been enjoying leveling my Nightblade melee duelist, and I've had a lot of fun switching back and forth between Stamina and Magicka. My front bar is built around Assassin's Blade, Shadow Cloak, Teleport Strike, Veiled Strike, and Death Stroke for my ultimate.

My final spot, along with my back bar, I use for buffs and to round out my build depending on whether I'm running Magicka or Stamina. With either resource, my playstyle is mostly the same - overwhelming assault from stealth and a quick exit if I get overrun.

Here's my issue: I can't figure out which resource to shoot for. Normally I don't let the meta decide what I do, and I run with what fits my neurological wiring the best. HOWEVER, the TG Xpac mentions several things that have me thinking I really need to adjust my build sooner rather than later.

For starters, I keep hearing about a nerf to Stamina regeneration. I've spent about an hour looking for info on this, but have been unsuccessful. Can anyone help me out here? I'm particularly concerned about how this would impact a sustained resource build for PvP.

Next, I'm interested to know how everyone is reacting to this change from the 2.3.0 patch notes. It reads:
"Revealing an enemy from stealth or invisibility with abilities such as Revealing Flare or Magelight now prevents that enemy from casting stealth or invisibility for the duration, rather than letting them re-enter stealth or invisibility but still be visible."

Do you guys think that this will hurt Magicka builds or Stamina builds more? Like I said, I normally don't swing with the meta, but this feels like it has the potential to be a MASSIVE game changer. As Magicka, I rely on Dark Cloak + Concealed Weapon (along with Double Take) to get away if it gets too hot. But if I can be locked out of cloak this easily, it appears that my escape mechanic just went away. As Stamina, I always take Retreating Maneuver, but - again - not sure how any incoming "Stamina regen nerf" will affect how easily I can pull this off, either, since I'm using Stamina to do everything else.

Okay, I apologize for the wall of text, but I greatly appreciate your indulgence in reading. Thanks in advance for any insight and advice!

    The only thing the magelight will hurt is nb's, though it will hurt magicka more than stamina, stamina nb's can dodge, magicka nb's can't, the reveal got reduced to 3s though.

    The only nerf stamina is getting this patch is the introduction of the physical dmg reduction cp star, like hardy is in the current patch, which reduces magicka dmg, there is going to be a physical one as well.

Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

      I'm pretty sure the answer is "No", but is there any chance that Purge ---> Cleanse will remove the stealth lockout?

      Magicka sorc aren't that great unless in overload.

      Stam dk's have very high sustained dps.

      uh, I'm pretty sure all the mobs in PvE will not be able to stack points in their hardy trees lol. The stamina "nerf" (more like balance) is only going to affect PvP really.

      The directly "nerf" to stam builds is the new champion star reduce incoming phys damage, but to me it's more like a balance.

      They also buff many magicka skills, like magicka DK, mage light change, buff dark flare damage... This is not a "nerf" to stam builds, but since mag build will be stronger, stam build doesn't look that "super" any more.

      everyone missed the fact that every ultimate in the game will scale from elemental expert next patch except for dragon leap, which is a dk ultimate. physical damage will be easier to mitigate next patch and their ultimates will continue to be weak compared to magicka builds. not to mention proxy getting buffed when hitting multiple targets and the vicious death set adding more to the zerg busting meta magicka builds. The strongest of these magicka based ultimates is meteor which had a fair counter but now you can't reflect it making it an obvious choice for most people.

      Most magicka build went full magicka in cp anyway, dual wield sorc, magicka nb, magicka templar, the only one that didn't was dk.

      The only ult that will do more dmg is meteor, everything else's dmg won't change.

      The only ult affected next patch will be leap because liek you said it's the only physical ult in the game. In fact other stamina class/builds that don't use leap, their ult's will actually do more dmg next patch because people will take cp away from the magic dmg reduction and put it into physical reduction.

      Because when stam damage is reduced to magicka damage why play 2 resource pools when you can use 3.

      Also caltrops will not proc SA. Its probably not a skill you have gotten but it was the bread and butter sustain for stamina NBs. We don't want to get into a sustained fight but if you did you would throw your caltrops down and then cast Siphoning Attacks. Anything standing in your caltrops would proc Siphoning Attacks and you would get stamina back passively without actully having to do anything plus the clatrops would be procing camo hunter and the like. Now it procs nothing. This combo was what let players like spypher spec almost everything into damage and not worry about sustain too much. Its a HUGE nerf.

      And I like how players are trying to make this stamina is op'ed cry fest. Magicka sorc plus shield stacking is and has always been the meta and will be the meta after this patch. This class will be the meta until dark brother hood. I will be joining the ranks of hogwarts as I put my leathers to bed and bring out my robe and wands and hop around with my invincible shield with my 100 bastion points and streak away. That is the meta. Your stamina build is fine son.

      This is what i was afraid of… Was even watching gameplay and highest i seen it hit was about 5k

      I'm getting 3 to 5k WB now... my leap lost 4k damage off the top + the physical reduction ... Leap is around 5 to 7k atm..

      Last night I was doing 100% more damage with WB in PvP... my leap has been cut by 50%....

      Somethings messed up with damage. I'm glass cannon and surviving way more than I should now. Its a lot more dmg reduction than anything in the CP tree is doing. Both physical and magicka damage seems to be reduced far more than it should.

      Dragon leap has been severely nerfed... 20-25% less damage... + another 20% on state change..... 5.5 to 6.5 with crit 7 to 8k dragon leaps are the norm now...

      That's not it. You do not recovery stamina anymore while crouched or sprinting. The sprinting change is acceptable but not being able to recover stamina while stealthed is a huge blow to any stamina build that roam's around crouched.

      This effected me huge because I play a vampire stamina nightblade. I run across cryodill all day with double take in stealth. However now I will not regen stamina even if im sitting still in stealth.

      V16 shadowwalker when it come's out will be a must have for me now to play like this.

      My Stamblade seems to be recovering Stamina while crouched as long as I'm not moving.

      The patch note says you won't, but I'm recovering stamina while crouched but not moving. My hope is that it's a poorly written patch note.
