A NB and temp, both stam, both competent (sp?) players.
Real quick a rant: Wtf randoms?! Why the heck wont you A. Wait for me to engage then you engage or B. Stick to your advance! If you do attack and I jump in, we are facing two opponents, it gets real hard for me to take on both suddenly. And im talking to you v16s! Blame lag all you like, but when you flop like a fish in 2 secs we need some coordination!
Anyway... because I kept getting close to winning I kept going back and getting killed. I noticed something...
Flying Dagger was hitting me/shield for approximately 8k every single time (indicating not a crit) this is not a WB, or frag, yes it does have a buff, but to my knowledge this move is practically tangling webs in stam form (dmg wise)
If it had crit that's at least a 10k flying dagger. Being such a mediocre damage move it made me wonder:
Can all moves reach a point where the base damage is close to 10k?(give or take a few ks)

That 8K dagger probably WAS a crit. My dual wielding Khajiit has 96% weapon crit now, and will hit 100% or more with gear upgrades when she's VR16.

Went through a recording and it was: Flying 4k, 4k, 4k, burning light, Flying 8k.
So yeah just a massive crit rate.
Can a magicka user even break 80% crit rate?
So, im lookin at stamina... I do not see a single reason why any stam build wouldn't be able to pull these numbers off. With the CPs and the gear lay out (as only medium armor actually has any damage buff passives)
I guess now im a bit bitter. Stam gets to CC break, more CC moves, more damage (I know they say magicka can out perform... but I seriously doubt WB and ambush take a back seat to any magicka move)
Higher Crit rating, Higher Crit damage.
Better freaking gear. The fact you can Run x5 briar heart, x5 hundling's rage and x2 monster drops.
We as magicka just now got Julianos (oh great its a hundling's rage! So advantageous!) we can combine that with some of the worst 5 set perks I've seen for dps. Arch mage ok thanks for another magnus (like the other 4 sets)
Mur end rant.

Kahjit extra weap crit is bugged and does not work atm, so you prolly have smth like 88%

Not agreeing or disagreeing with your rant, but would like to point out that arch-mage is better than magnus for dps because the spell damage buff comes with the 3-slot perk on arch-mage, but the 4-slot perk with magnus. So if you only have 3 slots to fill magnus will give you max magicka and regen, whereas arch-mage will give you regen and spell-damage.
