Some ideas for PvP

Just wanted to share my ideas on what I think will bring some balance to the current state of PvP. I have been playing since September 2014, in the EU server. I played stam NB 2H-Bow from the very beginning.

REMOVE SHIELD STACKING

This could work by giving priority to self-casted shields over other shields, so the player can choose if he wants to keep the shield from his ally or prefer his own. Also, if you cast a shield while having a self-casted shield on you, that new shield would replace your current one, so the player can choose what kind of shield they need in every moment.

CLOAK REVAMP

I suppose that we can all agree that Dark Cloak is a defensive skill because of the DoT purge. I think that rather than giving it the dodge treatment that many are asking for (or a Magicka Recovery reduction while it lasts), the skill should apply a damage debuff while being invisible. This way Magicka NB who can spam the skill will keep their ability to evade damage, but they will give up some offensive power. Stamina NB will not suffer too much from this because they use the skill as a defense already. Those who don't want their damage to be changed will prefer Shadowy Disguise over the other one, and will have to find ways to play without the DoT purge.

ALLIANCE WAR SKILLS REVAMP

What is the point of having synergies when you have skills like Purge or Retreating Maneuver? Someone hits a button a now everyone is free of damage and snares. I think that these skills should have a cooldown so you can be purged once every four seconds, or work with synergies so other players have to at least do something to get the effect.

MAGICKA DETONATION INSANE DAMAGE

I am being hit for 10K+ from this skill in 1vs1 situations. Is that buffed critical damage? Even if it is, it sounds like a lot for a non-ultimate skill. I think that the damage of this skill should be nerfed, plain and simple.

Looking forward to hear any advice that you can give me or any opinion about my opinions.

So you pretty much hate sorc and nb's gotcha.

As for magicka det, block. Put some cp's into hardy etc....

Cloak: don't like that idea because I do use it as an offense skill - kill from the shadows. If I infiltrate ranks, locate enemy and prepare for attack, don't feel I should be penalized for cloaking, lol.

Alliance skills: these do need a revamp. But also see notes on upcoming PVP and siege changes - many siege effects will no longer be purge able or shielded, so some of the stuff you're wanting is about to roll.

Detonation: sorcs seem OP. No, don't jump on me sorcs, you smell like pixie dust and and not asking for a nerf. But I have a sorc, and he's way, way OP in my opinion - endless resources, insane dps, etc. offsetting this for my NB required a ton of CPs in reduce magic damage, crit damage, etc. The major factor I consider when fighting sorcs is that they can kinda line up three 9-15k attacks all at once. Curse (hits in a few seconds), detonation, then crystal frag. You'll lose 80-100% of health all at once. It makes them challenging.

But on the other hand, if I catch a sorc by surprise I get a free robe and there's a naked dude with a slit throat lying in a field in Cyrodiil, so it's all perspective.

Magblades hit like wet noodles and you want to reduce their damage further? Only with proxy det do they become somewhat viable. I guess I'll keep killing by spamming cloak then. C'mon mate.

They're adjusting Detonation in the next update to make it less useful for single target and zergs.

They're adjusting Detonation in the next update to make it less useful for single target and zergs.

Magicka nb's can hit quite hard without cloak if you build it right.

If I front load spell damage with little sustain and use food yeah of course. I wouldn't be dual wielding with that setup though I'd go destro. This is for for very high sustained damage. I have a mag sorc at V16 that just uses the same gear and it's literally no contest and twice as easy.

ZoS has already talked about what they are going to do with det. But when it comes to cloak no nerf really needed, because of how squishy Mag NB already are.

As far as I know, Cloak is getting nerfed one way or another. I too believe that it doesn't needs a nerf because the skill is easy to counter, but people is complaining about it (I can see why) and ZOS listen to them.

Cloak will be indirectly nerfed with the non purgeable DoT from siege
