So I took a break from ESO (RL stuff, you know how it goes) and I come back to 2 DLC and a ton of new stuff, and patches changing things around a bunch. I'm looking for a Templar build specifically, to help me get through tanking, healing, and DPS roles. I've searched the forums here, and most of the posts are older than the DLC, so I would like to request a little assistance in getting back on track.

I would like at least SOMETHING to help decide on the right course... I enjoyed PvP and PvE, about halfway through Cadwell's Silver at VR3. And I'm quite lost on my choices. Looking for efficiency and speed hopefully.

Hm well that's a vast area and I doubt I'll be very helpful there but still...do you want to do all 3 roles with one character? It's not impossible but a bit tricky, you'd need different gear presets and you'd still be less effective than someone fully specced in one/two roles, partly because of the CP distribution(a healer would be putting point in healing perks, dps in damage perks, tank in damage mitigation etc). A lot of people play tank/healer or healer/dps on their templars though(the latter sometimes with same gear preset).
Templars are still best healers in game with Breath of Life and the shards - the stamina they give back is all the more important now with the stam regeneration nerf(you get 0 stam regeneration while blocking now). They're also great tanks with some offheals and actually very good dps, whether stamina or magicka, right now. So you have full freedom of choice;)

Most of the game is kind of ridiculously easy now and getting easier as we get more CP so a lot of the times healers spend most of their times in dungeons just dps-ing with an occasional BoL when needed. Jabs is actually a great dps skill these days.

I don't really do PvP so can't be much help there, as for more specific PvE advice you'll have to be more specific. Are you more interested in healing, tanking or dpsing? If dpsing, stamina or magicka?

DPS wise I'm not sure, I've tried both stamina and magicka, and like them both. I've also always liked tanking in MMO's, and healing, and prefer those roles in PvE and PvP. Tanking and healing especially.

There have been some recent posts on this. you can dual wield/retso or dual wield/1 h or 2 hand.

I have been dps/healing, no tank so can't comment on that.
but pretty easy doing both dps/heal just gotta get your magicka sustain up there to heal the tough parts.
Juliannos set you can get starting at V1 in guild stores if you don't want to craft it.
    It rocks for DPS/Heal.
Willpower/Dualwield 5 light/2 heavy or 7 light or pretty much a lot of combos as long as you have the sets.
Pretty much 75% dps/25% spent healing and watching over people as best as you can.

    GL!

Ok. I'm probably not going to get into dungeons right away, and I would prefer crafted sets to at least start myself with. What about tank set ups? Any crafted sets in particular a good start?

It's extremely hard(expensive) to have both a dps, heal and tank build on the same character in ESO.

Mainly due to CP placement, but also the fact that heal + dps needs to run pure builds, as in 64 magicka or stamina. You only use food for health, pretty much.

This while a tank should have roughly 25-30k health and at least 20k stamina for blocking. Tank needs attributes into either health + stamina, to reach those numbers. You just wont reach it with only enchants, food and healthy/robust ring traits. This while you still need all 64 attributes into magicka, as healer or magicka dps, for max dmg and resource pool.

If you want to do everything well, you have to spend a fortune on respec's :bawling:

Yeah I'm just looking for basic builds and what is the current... Meta I guess. Haven't really kept up with anything, but I want ti keep my options open in case I decide I don't like a build. I'll probably stayas magicka heals / dps until I finish vr grinding.

For magicka builds, do you just throw everything into magicka attribute wise?

There's a bit more versatility in tanking than with other roles right now I suppose. If you want to tank, one thing you'd need is some health pool that'll let you not get 1 shot if something goes wrong, I'm not really sure what it should be at v3...at v16 my friend runs about 30k health on his templar tank which is honestly probably more than he needs(that is with food).
Magicka(whether healing or dps) wise you do put everything in magicka, just make sure your health reaches some minimum treshold so you don't get oneshot too often(~18k at v16).

Honestly while you're not minimaxing and just trying to get the hang of the game good old Seducer may be a great set for just about anything. Actually I think that's what my templar tanky friend runs right now, too. Tanks also value Hist Bark set.
Great sets for magicka dps(possibly healing, too, as it scales with spell damage as well) are Julianos and I guess Kagrenac's Hope.
For jewelry you may look into Willpower/Endurance/Agility sets(depending on what you end up doing), they're 3 pc sets that drop in IC or off last dungeon bosses(they're bound on equip so you'll also find them in guildstores) and include weapons, shields, rings and necklaces. Most people run 2 rings and a neck. Willpower for example buffs max magicka and spelldamage, being easily best jewelry for a magicka dps and argueably healer, too.

Basically for magicka dps you throw everything into max magicka and spelldamage(and get some crit, 50-ish or bit lower is more than enough, and don't forget Inner Light), for heals you do the same but throw in some magicka regeneration.

Sorry if my post is a bit of a mess, hope it answers some of your questions though ^_^

Thanks a bunch guys, answered a ton of questions I had. My tank build (that got reset after all the patches recently, and the one I was using previously) has the seducers/hist bark sets.

If I'm tanking I want mostly heavy armor, healing or dps light armor, as far as I remember.
