Simple change that would remove most lag indirectly.

Make ultimates scale in power with their charge level. An ultimate that is charged to 1000% is 10x stronger than one that just reached 100%.

No more 2hr blobs at last emp keep. No more stacking 100s of people together.

10x stronger would be crazy, and it shouldn't be taken to that extent, but think of the behavior changes this would cause if the framework of the idea was implemented.

Is it wrong for wanting my dawn breaker to do 120k instantly? Lol. Oh that 20k a second bat swarm tick :)

    In all honesty, yes, I'm down for 1 shot. It would fix the lag, people sure wouldn't ball up and big groups would be very hesitant entering breeches.

    The problem is humans naturally look for any advantage BEFORE risking anything. You'd only fight people with saved Ultimate and you'd be 1-shot every frackin fight which would get really old really fast. Games turns into a who can trigger their ultimate first.

    Agree 100% with AfkNinja on this. While I like that you're thinking about ways to help reduce lag there is one sure fire way of doing so and you have some control over it as well.................spread out and quit piling on the folks when it's not necessary.

    not really sure if that would assist servers in processing a boat-load of data all at once. I mean, the server still has to process the stats for a weak ulti and a strong ulti.....so........how do you reduce server load again?

    there will still be a gazillion people zerging a keep...spread out or stacked.

    Everyone talks about #removeAOEcaps like its gonna reduce lag.....but all it will really do is spread out ball groups (possibly)

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler Im still for making abilities that hit multiple targets only work for people in your group. That or much less than EVERY person in the area like purge or springs. Less stuff to process, less lag...?

    Granted I don't work on servers, but I can't imagine that processing the X,Y,Z locations of players....even stacked....even a hundred people in an area requires that much computation. I see the values of differing abilities, at different ranks, at different strengths hitting multiple targets, then processing different values based on several stats of THOSE players as causing the bulk of the math these things need to work thru.

    Any server techs online who can comment? I can only tell you if your laptop/desktop is broken and if you need a new one.

    I dont wanna spend 10mins charging ulti before every fight. Or get nuked instantly the moment I walk into a breach.

    But you would like the ability to nuke people using spammable AoE ?

    No, just no. This would be a nightmare to balance and how would a utility ultimate scale? Negate last 10x longer is utterly useless in PVP and 110s stun in pve would be insane.

    Lag supposedly from zergs spamming aoe was why they put the aoe caps in the first place.

    That said, I also hope they remove them.

    I got enough oneshot damage from ultimate from getting meteor fall damage while on stairs or similar. Don't really need more of that crap. :neutral:

    this is not going to end well at all I do think that classes other than sorcerers should have a benefit for storing excess ultimate as well but this is not it... Plus about that imagine 1000 ultimate overload then heavy attack spam, since they can use it without it draining all their ultimate sorcerers will be gods and no other class will have a chance...

    Smart healing is the biggest issue with very large groups imo, all it takes is a couple templars spamming BoL. They dont have to aim/face towards their targets, their heals can even go thru walls. Anyone who can spam a button can keep the group alive, it should take more than pressing a single button.

    On top of that the time to rez is way too short, especially with Kagrenacs.

    The stam regen block nerf was great, now its time to make healing more difficult.
