Questions regarding Stamina Sorc and skills

Hey guys!

New player and first time poster, wanted to ask some questions about the stam sorc build which I've seen popping up in discussions lately.

I'm currently level 11, and plan to hit up as much PvE content as I can before I max out and start Pvping in Cyrodill (which is my end game goal) and I've been doing it so far as a pure Magicka Sorc, however I'm very intrigued in trying out stam with a 2-handed sword setup.

What I want to know is, if I decide to continue on my Magicka path, levelling up light armor/class skills/destruction staff passives etc...how difficult would it be for me to max out my skills for a stam sorc setup by the time I reach level 50 should I choose to convert to stam? Am I better off to just start equipping medium armor/2 hander etc ASAP or do skills level up relatively quick around end game?

Thanks for any feedback.

Basically what I want to know is, if I choose to start leveling up some skills which are level 1 by the time my characters level 50, how quickly can I level them up?

If I choose to convert to a stamina build later on after dedicating all my skill lines to magicka, will it be too late?

No it's not too late. I actually find that low level skill limes level up faster when your at a higher level. Also you can always get armor weapons with the training trait on them which will speed up lvling skill lines immensely.

You can if you want while lvling as Magicka just put a skill from the Two Hander line on your spare slot on your bar and it will lvl the two hander line and that skill without you even using it. Just place it and forget :)

I have a blanket recommendation for every new player: Level Everything.

I recommend that you slot 5 pieces of whatever armor you favor, and 1 piece each of the other two (with training on them). It is much easier to level your armor up in this fashion, and you'll be glad you did.

I recommend that in the early starter islands and low level phases that you get all weapon skills to 4-10 range. Getting a skill to 4 means you can access the two first weapon skills. What this means later on is that when you are doing mission turn-ins you can slot weapon skills from multiple trees on a back bar (or using a skill loader addon) to simultaneously level up a bunch of skills at once. This brings up a point, you can use the experience burst from mission turn in to level up skills in exactly the way you desire.

PvP leveling on blackwater blade is completely different, and requires a whole different strategy. I still recommend you get all your weapon skills lines to 4+ before you can make it to Cyrodiil, and I recommend the 5/1/1 armor arrangement.

While levelling I also recommend you try to slot at least one skill from your 3 class lines. This will make it easier to access your class passives and of course finish these skill lines. Often the skill you want to use from a class line is deep in the tree before its useful. Let me make the example of a Stamina Sorcerer. You will want your daedric passives, which means you'll want to get Bound Armaments. You'll want Boundless, Streak, Surge and Overload from the Lightning Line. You'll probably want exchange from the dark line. All of these require at least moderate investment in the skill line, and to get full benefit will require maxing out the passives. This means even the Stamina Sorc needs to master his class lines.

You will always have to level something, even at high vet level. Offenaive skills are easier to level because they are used more frequently. Consider placing more emphasis on non offensive abilities that you may want later as they will be more difficult to level.

Once you get higher level and have access to higher end content, the XP you get per kill/quest will be much higher than you receive now. That said, it's actually a lot easier to level up skills/lines in the higher end content. As a rule of thumb while leveling a character, it's best to have one skill from each class line on your bar to get them to 50 asap. The more skills from a particular line you have on your bar (Surge/Boundless/Endless Fury) the faster that particular line (Storm) levels.

Level 11 xp is rather low and nothing to worry about. In fact, if you don't have a load of training gear, I would not waste time thinking about it. Just level up your class/weapon skills and make the switch later on when you can level it fast.
