DW Daggers or Maces

Was wondering what is the better route to go?

Maces for armor pen look at passives in duel wield blade and blunt I think. Crit is great in pve more than pve but armor pen combined with mighty in cp is brutal to all armor types ATM shields cannot be critted upon so a high crit build may be mitigated by shield stackers. High crit is great after high weapon damage but not in place of it. Use the sharpened trait on your maces to get that extra bit.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

I use dw daggers right now with a crit at 76.2% was thinking of switching to maces. Would it be better to do dagger/mace?

Just try a sharp mace with one dagger see how it works.

Dual maces are stronger than daggers, swords or axes because the penetration is so good. However, the extra little bit of penetration added by Sharpened trait is not worth it according to my tests. I think Sharpened got nerfed a long time ago for one reason or another... it used to be OP or something. Anyway, I get best results with Precise trait on both maces.

I had been using axes for the extra bleed damage. Then it was brought to my attention that bleeds dont work on any of the big bosses.
  • JasonSR0331
I have heard that the bleed damage doesn't work at all right now

Should be noted, while stam builds get lots of bonuses via gear/skills for weapon dmg and physical resistance reduction, actual physical penetration is not normally native via those routes (conversely with nirn for magicka; lots of spell penetration and spell dmg but not native spell dmg resistance reduction).

Thus stam builds need to match their penetration using following:

-dual maces for extra physical dmg penetration
    -Champion points for extra penetration.

Missing that stat alone will make you think stam builds are subpar to magicka.

Ok wondering about the cp if I have 90 Mage points should they all be put in penetration?

Believe it would be Mighty but still under the Mage

What trait is best for two hand and one hand maces?
    - Walk with virtue, friend.

I would say under Mage Mighty then maybe some into Piercing and Precise. Then I would put some into Heavy weapon Expert under Atro

Look up the sorc athremetic thread on tamreil foundry. Last I checked, for dps you get the most bang for your buck with points in overall dmg (mighty, elemental or thaumaturge). Points in heavy weapons is fine, but it only effects light/heavy attacks.

Most stam builds set CP into the big 3 (mighty Penetrate and weapon crit) differently. But in general you have mighty and piercing to have the most (2:1 ratio sound ideal?)

I'm not a stam user but this is coming from reading stam builds.

Also I know percise helps add to your heals for vigor/rally. Keep that in mind. And at 3k gold per CP reset cost, you should experiment with placement test it out and settle on the final points for your playstyle.

You should put most into Mighty.
Use dual mace for pvp (one mace one sword for pve? ). If your penetration is enough with the maces to get the dps you want, then put more into Mighty/crit. If your are noticing less DPS despite having most points in mighty, try adding more into penetration.

Go for a 3-2-1 ratio between Mighty, Penetration, and crit as a start (in that order)

It's likely you'll need to farm more CP, do those pledges and get an IC farm group going.
