    As someone who has access to TBS and uses the set. It's great for PvP. My toon I use it on is not DPS by any means. Hes support and it goes without saying that your healer needs to not get one shotted. To accomplish this, my guy needs a decent stamina pool and resource maintain. TBS gives the PvPer a lot of utility to explore his options n mundus buffs. With the other sets out there, one must think VERY carefully what he will spend his 700-1000 mats on for gear creation. Its extremely important folks figure out a very focused build before spending the time and mats on their v16 gear. Because it will be extremely tedious to regrind all your mats again.

    Julianos is definitely better for Spell DPS/Crit in PvE imo. It's a gear set very focused on DPS, but in PvP its up for discussion as to how useful it is. TBS has more utility w/ divine buff + 2 mundus buff so the toon can switch up his fighting style comfortably without re-forging the wheel. One should consider his options wisely before investing the mats in their set.

    The flexibility of TBS is certainly a big advantage.

    Im still using Kagrenacs for pvp because its well-rounded but if I had to craft legendary v16 gear again I would probably make TBS.

    I have also crafted Kagrenacs and used it in PvP/PvE and it's a wonderful set... for one class really imo. That being Templar. Cast time on Res speed really fast with Battle Resurrection Buff from Support skill line--but that buff only applies itself in Pvp sadly. However the speed is -still- noticeable on the PvE side of the fence. The only reason why I went with TBS over Kags is... well I'm not resurrecting that much in PvP land. Plus when you PvP solo, the Res speed buff is not getting used as much as it should. I am better off putting my eggs in a basket that makes sense for my needs.

    Fun fact: As a PC transfer to PS4, before Orsinium dropped, I had a lot of folks ask me to forge them Kagrenacs. I completed at least 30 or so sets between v15 and v16 for Magic DPS oriented folks. I'm super curious to see if these folks stayed with that set or moved over to Julianos. (Mind you PC people, a lot of folks who started on PS4 still need more time to catch up to 8-trait research.. which can take well over a year to get everything unlocked on every table. So Kag's accessibility is pretty on-par with TBS')

    @Xantaria, I think TBS will probably be better for a high crit build. I mean the reason why TBS was better than Julianos before the changes to Elfborn/Precise Strikes was because it offered good crit chance and good crit multiplier but then the change to Elfborn/Precise Strikes made it such that crit chance was the limiting factor hence favouring Julianos.

    But to properly address your question, that is with actual reasoning not just my feelings, it would be advantageous to first determine the optimal champion point distribution for such a build. I would do this by calculating the function below for every single combination of champion point distribution in Mighty, Precise Strike and Piercing.

    You can then use a similar spreadsheet to mine to determine relevant dps metrics for TBS and Hunding's

    Hi,

    Slightly off main topic but you guys seem very clued up about the maths behind the mechanics;

    Am I correct in understanding these optimum allocation of champion points;
    Sorcerer- 100 elemental expert, 58 elfborn, 9 spell erosion
    Templar- 100 thaumaturge, 58 elfborn, 9 spell erosion

    I have been putting points into thaumaturge on my sorc, is there a meaningful difference?

    While endless fury, liquid lightning, streak, overload are all lightning damage, Thaumaturge is still important.

    Your big hitters like frags, curse, mines are magic damage. Outside sorc ultimates and ice comet, they are magic damage too (swarm, dawnbreaker, soul strike).

    So basically, you need a balance in both
