Can someone explain exactly how Detection pots work for me

So I've been playing imperial city and I've become extremely fed up with forever cloaking magicka night blades but I like all the skills I currently use on my bar and don't want to swap one out for flare. So I'm looking to use detection pots if someone could explain to me exactly how they work like how long do they last? At what range will it detect? If I realize I'm fighting a NB can I cast it before he cloaks and will it keep him out?

it lasts about 12 seconds with ~45 seconds cool-down. It will allow you to see the cloaked people for the duration. Range is about 20 meter.

Depending on how it was crafted it will come with some other effects like magicka regen and spell damage, but in return it plays an 1 second animation on you char that pretty much tells your opponent "Hey! I just chunk a pot!"

Hmm... I think I can make that work. 12 seconds of them not spamming cloak to avoid every one of my attacks like they used to spam dodge roll. Unless anyone has any better strategies. Their really the one build I'm kinda struggling to go against since it seems like cloak is the new dodge roll.

Let's you see any stealth player including NB cloak babies spamming cloak for 12 or so seconds give or take to about 20 meters. Used to last for 40 seconds but the NBs cried non-stoped about it so ZOS nerfed it to be nearly useless making the new OPO cloak a goddess tier skill.

I love all the changes imperial city did but they need to do something with cloak honestly. I may be wrong but it seems like magicka NB is now the only go to class to spam a way to constantly avoid attacks. It's a joke. Everywhere I go by myself now I get jumped by a NB I can only see like a quarter of the time. And then when I finally get him down he just runs away to regen and then come back and fail at trying again. I'm not saying it's OP. But a player shouldn't be able to continually avoid damage. We got rid of dodge roll spam, we got rid of shield stacking, we got rid of non stop bolting sorcerers, NB cloak is the next one. I'm not saying we just need to nerf cloak. I know why they spam it. But we need to put some sort of cool down on it similar to to roll dodge so if they choose to spam it their gonna suffer. And give them another way to help them mitigate damage.

There ok but it's obvious when you use them, most nb's just run away when i chug a pot then come back 12 seconds later ^^
