xbox one: error 303 post IC patch

ever since downloading the update today, I have yet been able to log into any of my eight characters and play. I end up selecting a character and sit endlessly while I stare at a loading screen. Eventually the screen completely freezes, goes completely black I catch a glimpse of my character and the world and then I'm right back at the beginning title with the error 303 message. I have tried everything from playing other online connection required games (which, surprise they work without problems), resetting my modem, to unplugging the xbox to no avail. I have done everything short of uninstalling the game, simply because who the hell wants to sit and wait 5 damn hours for the game to re-install and then the update as well. Can I please see some effort from you all that this is a recognized issue and that you are currently doing your best to fix this? I bought this game at launch, had it pre-ordered long before then in fact I had it pre-ordered and paid in full when it was first announced to be coming to consoles (you know way back in the dark ages when you promised that it would be a same day release for both pc and console?), on top of that I am an ESO plus subscriber! So could I please see my hard-earned money work for me?

    You see Zos, I am not the only one experiencing this issue. The problem is that we can't log in and play in order to to earn those coveted Champion Points so that we can keep up with the Joneses. Not to mention in my case and in other peoples cases, we aren't getting our money's worth for the ESO Plus subscription. It would be one thing if I paid for the sub and chose not to play, but I do want to play and simply cannot because you chose to recognize guild bank issues instead of fixing issues with logging into your game thus keeping many of your core players in the cold. I hate to play the compensation card but this serious lack of response, action, and recognition is quite astonishing even for you!

    Ok, so I've done everything on my end here. I have unplugged the xbox, I have reset my modem, I have even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, I have tested my connection, and I have played without incident other online connection required games and yet I am still experiencing the Error 303 issue when attempting to log into any of my characters no matter the time of day I attempt to do so. So can we please get some sort response, apology and we're working on a fix right away statement? Or are you still going with the "If we ignore it it will go away." strategy. Either way I am on the verge of canceling my subscription and trading in the game. I didn't spend $60 and a $15 monthly sub so I can stare at the title screen and an Error message.

    XB1 -- Constant skills dont show -- my restoration staff and lightening staff dont have the constant skill like before - I couldnt even tell I was attacking anything!!!! Animation of skills missing

    I have a V7 V1 several lower chars and all are non playable ue to skill glitches

    Didnt even try to use a wayshrine or fast travel who knows what would happen

    Game crashed 3 times b4 even getting to the load screen

    Guess its back to Destiny and Skyrim

    Thanks ZoS for screwing up what potentially could have been a great game


    P.S if you're waiting for a Legit Honest answer from ZoS - Good Luck -- They are still tyelling us it is out modems, routers, ISP etc --

    You Can not put an update / patch on an already bugged system as it will only amplify the issues and create new ones!

    They pushed IC because PC was complaining about lack of content since launch 2 years ago. They pushed it despite the known issues that was already in it during the PTS phase for IC. They pushed it despite the whole host of problems that existed on both PC and Consoles since launch that still haven't been fixed. Yet, they are surprised that players are becoming increasingly more upset.

    I myself haven't had any major issues with the game until I downloaded the latest patch. Sure I would be running around doing things and suddenly the game crashes and I'm back on the Xbox dashboard. Sure I would be in my bank or guild bank and suddenly I would be starring at the moneylender for no reason, but these issues weren't game killers for me. The true game killer in my scenario is the fact that as of right now and the past three days I haven't even been able to play and Zos could care less!

    The fact is I have enjoyed most everything about the game and was willing to overlook some of the minor bugs having faith that Zos would eventually fix them and the game would only get better in the long run, however I can't begin to understand why they won't even acknowledge that there are a handful of players that can't even play the game right now or even attempt to fix that problem so they can!

    If there are any other players also experiencing this issue, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the game, however I would highly discourage doing so as it has not resolved the issue for me at least.

    I have made the decision to broadcast this issue on twitch so that all potential new xbox one owners thinking about buying this game are aware of this issue. Beginning tonight at 11 pm CST I will be on twitch showcasing the Error 303 can't log in bug. If I can prevent at least one other gamer from buying this game I will consider it a success. I will continue to broadcast this issue everyday at all hours available for me to do so until this issue is fixed. I am no longer satisfied with begging for Zos to publicly recognize this issue or attempt to smooth it over by telling us a fix is coming! Either it gets fixed or I will continue to broadcast and actively convince anyone who views the broadcast to not purchase this game. The time has come to take further action and I fully intend to do so!

    Just for fun, I decided to further test this Error 303 and create a character on the Europe megaserver. I was able to fully create the character and it even verified that the unique name I created was in fact available. In short I was able to successfully create a whole new character from scratch (nothing pre-generated), the game should have place me in the beginning area of Cold Harbor as I have not made a European character prior to this. Low and behold I go to the loading screen and after several minutes of waiting I am sent back to the title menu with the same Error 303 message mocking me.

    I took things a step further and created a new xbox live profile and attempted to log in and behold it worked, however it doesn't change the fact that I am unable to play on my original profile or with any of those characters.

    I would have to say that is interesting - however - I dont feel like I should have to make a New Microsoft Live Profile to play this game when I already have Vet level Chars that are glitched beyond playable.

    The only thing I havent tried is a total uninstall then re-install, but Im doubting that will ork as most glitches are on their server end

    do not uninstall, I have done that and it didn't fix squat. And you are right we shouldn't have to create new profiles in order to play the game, especially when we have invested so much time, effort and for some real money into perfecting their toons.

    I hate to say it but Blizzard even at their worst would've resolved this issue by now. I also know that may people who may read this might have issues witm me comparing Zenimax to Blizzard, but it is what it is " If you make a MMORPG you will be compared to the top dogs of that genre!"

    Zenimax should have made sure that they put on their big boy/girl pants/panties before stepping into the ring. Not only is their game flawed, but so is their business model right down to customer support which should be one of the strongest areas of any business.

    I got told that once - the reply I got was take my console to someone else's house who has a different ISP and try then!!!! Im sorry ALL these glitches bugs errors etc are on ZoS End and its high time they ACKNOWLEDGE it and FIX IT!!

    They created this mess they need to clean it up!!!!

    I have been in contact with someone on the Tech Support Escalation team, and while we haven't gotten the situation resolved yet, we have been able to rule out quite a bit.

    Possible Fix 1): Power down xbox console, unplug console from power brick, switch off your modem, wait approximately 4-5 minutes, re-plug your console to power brick, switch modem back on, wait till modem is fully powered and sending/receiving information, power back on console, load game, go through usual routine. Results: Ineffective.

    Possible Fix 2): Uninstall/Reinstall game. Results: Ineffective ( I strongly urge others not to do this as it is both mind-numbing and highly aggravating!!!).

    Possible Fix 3): Remove your live account from your xbox console then recover said xbox live account. Results: Ineffective.

    I will do my very best to keep all of you updated with my progress and hope that this open correspondence with the Tech Support Escalation team pays off. I believe that through my cooperation with them that I have them convinced of the following: 1) This is not a connectivity issue. 2) This is not an xbox live issue. 3) This is not an xbox live account issue. 4) This is a ESO account issue

    Essentially I had to jump through some more hoops again since last night while communicating back and forth with the Tech Support Escalation team (Everyone affected with this issue may have to do this but you will need the aid of Tech Support in order to do so).

    So, as many of you who have been following my posts know, I created a new xbox live profile and was able to successfully create and play a completely new character (Doing this you will need to create a new ESO account as well).

    The Tech Support Escalation team had to disassociate my xbox live profiles from my ESO accounts. I then had to re-link those accounts but (for ease of explanation I will use "A" and "B" for the two xbox live profiles, "A" being the original xbox live profile and "B" being the new xbox live profile I created. I will use "X" and "Y" for the ESO accounts, "X" being the original and "Y" being the new one.) I had to link xbox live profile "B" with ESO account "X", and xbox live profile "A" with ESO account "Y".

    The following is the steps I took, the results of those actions, and the response I sent back to them after learning the results:

    1) I successfully linked the xbox live profile "B" to the ESO account "X"
    2) Selected the first character in my character list and logged in successfully
    3) Logged into everyone of my other characters and did so successfully

    Note: Curious but not surprising was although I had the crowns that I accumulated prior to the IC DLC, it was not registering me as a ESO Plus member. I presume this is due to the fact I had purchased ESO Plus on the xbox live profile "A". Also all of the guilds that I was apart of showed in my social tab but did not check to see if my friends list was populated accordingly.

    4) I successfully linked the xbox live profile "A" to the ESO account "Y"
    5) Selected the character on that profile and got the "Error 303 Connection to the server has timed out." message.

    This is the latest response that I have gotten from the Tech Escalation team

    Hi There,

    That is good(ish) news, it definitely shows that the problem has something to do with the way the Gamertag itself is interacting with our system. Definitely not a long term solution, and clearly there are problems with the fact that you are now linked to the secondary gamertag, not the least of which are that you have now lost ESO Plus benefits(as I would expect, those do stick to the Gamertag) and obviously chat, friends, achievements, etc are going to be associated with your secondary profile.

    So, I am going to report all of this up the chain, and see if they can pinpoint the exact problem, but at least we know the general area to look now. For now, unless you think otherwise, I think its probably better to keep the account linked to your secondary account, which should allow you to continue to play while we work this out.

    Inevitably, the question here will eventually arise, what to do about the fact that you are now out most of a month of paid ESO Plus. I'd like to help you where I can, but I do want to be upfront that my ability to compensate for that is fairly limited. The Subscription is directly tied to Xbox Billing, so I don't have a lot of control over that in the meantime. One thing you might want to try would be to see if you can get a refund for your current month, and you are free to use this ticket number as a reference if that helps xxxxxx-xxxxxx, and then pick it back up after everything is squared away, but I will leave that up to your judgement for the time being.

    I hope this will help you all in at least being able to play the characters you all have spent so much time in playing, hopefully the issue can be pinpointed quickly and the necessary actions need to correct it are figured out just as quickly. I will do my best to continue to post in an effort to keep all of you updated as I learn more.
