Religion

I'm curious what all of your religious beliefs are. I for one am a Dunmer and I practice the old faith like the Ashlanders do. I focus my reverence to Boethiah. I have since I played Oblivion and started looking into the different religions. My boyfriend is very adamant in his devotion to Meridia, on the other hand, and is a Breton. What about all of you? Where do you focus your faith? Do you have any hopes for expansion of the religious system in the game?

My main is a Bosmer, in the beginning he was following the green pact as normal, but by chance was turned against his will into a werewolf and followed Hircine, he has now since overcome and renounced Hircine and shifts when he chooses using the primal powers of the wood elves, thus breaking the green pact. As a result he no longer follows a religion in the strict sense of the word, but gives his respect to various deities, particularly Mara, Dibella, Kynareth, Y'ffre and Herma Mora. He also has a strong interest in the Argonian connection with the hist.

I have an Orc who follows Malacath, he chooses to fight and struggle, thus becoming stronger, though he has a particular hatred for undead and the lesser deadric creatures, which may or may not come from a secret allegiance with Meridia...

That is but two of my characters, I have many more, I don't RP with others or anything, but I like to think of these things as I make quest decisions and play in the world, it makes the game feel funner for me and it gives me a more full experience.

My main was not terribly religious until the events in Craglorn; now she's a dedicated Stargazer. My bank alt is an Argonian so probably at least acknowledges the Hist, although I haven't set that in stone.

My main, an Altmer, is rather different in that she worships Meridia and Azura alongside the normal Altmeri pantheon. She essentially views Daedric Princes on equal footing with gods, but does not worship all of them.

Rioghnan was raised in Balmora with mostly Dunmer so although he doesn't have a real religion, he is knowledgeable about their deities. His mother taught him a little about the typical Altmer beliefs, but since she was at one point a student of the Psijic Order (although Rioghnan does not know about this), she was never really into their religion either. The Psijic Order rejected all of the "new" Altmer gods way back when, and so on...

Of course most all Khajiits are fond to follow the Dual Moon gods Jone and Jode, though Zharum follows the Khajiit Thief god Rajhin. Acting as his 8th Shadow in the living realm, almost like a darker and more cat like Robin Hood, stealing from... well whomever to help tend to the needed and of course keep something for himself. I always thought Rajhin as one of the greatest stories/characters in all of the Elder Scrolls lore, well at least in my opinion anyways hahah.

My main is an Imperial, and after his dealings with Molag Bal and Sheogorath, he has a natural distrust of Daedra.

He is a firm believer in the Nine Divines though. When he lived in the Imperial City, his mercantile family often prayed to Zenithar. As a mage, he consistently praises Julianos, though all of the Divines receive his unyielding faith.

While talking to my friends about the faith I realised that the Ashlanders outside of Ebonheart have a unique style of weapons and clothing. I really hope that style becomes craft able considering I follow the old faith.

As Vadramea Varo, I have no memory before awakening in Cold Harbour. I know my name, and sometimes the taste of Sujamma or the scent of lava pits awakens a sense of belonging, but I have no memory of faith, family or allegiance.

I am forging new connections as best I can, though often I encounter betrayal. I do not love the Tribunal, nor do I trust them. But I feel a deep connection to the Ashlanders and to Meridia's hatred of the putrid and unclean dead. I will burn them with fire, and someday perhaps I will do it in her name.

As Vestaari, I have no need of gods or masters, and pity those who need a crutch to stand tall. Auri-El's light shines, and I respect his gifts, but what true god needs a bended knee? Intellect and mastery of the arts is what lifts us from the common crust and gives us greatness.

I start from nothing but myself, and soon the world will see what I can accomplish.

I wish they would introduce armours for each of the deities that you could receive by becoming a dedicated worshiper of them. Like Ashlander armour for those that worship the Good Daedra or Divines armour or stuff like that.

Armor of Azura perhaps? Robes of Merdia even? I like where your head is at.
Even though I have two crafted set armors for my Khajiit Zarum, I always "in my own rp world" claim that his armor is actually a gift from Rajhin. I just re-crafted both sets last night as well, mmm its pretty.

Mhmm. It's not a new concept, Daedra have granted armours such as Ebony Mail and Nocturnal's Nightingale armour plenty of times before. I want the other gods playing a bigger role in this game. Molag Bal is obviously big. Meridia is also rather important. We've encountered large groups of Mehrunes Dagon, Mephala, or Vaermina worshipers in the different alliances. Other than that, gods are scarce. I've seen races that have obvious patrons (Orcs with Malak, Nords with Shor and Kyne, so on and so forth), but unlike previous games that had a shrine and questline for every Daedra and many Aedra, we're rather lacking on the godly varieties. I'm sure they'll be adding more things for them all, but I'm eager to be able to see people that are noticeable worshipers of the different gods in game. Often times I need to actually explain the history of the Et'Ada and the nature of each deity to anyone I mention religion with in game.

    TL;DR
OP wants a larger role for religion itself in the game as opposed to events just concentrated on the highly active Daedra.
