Are the old sets scaled up?

Just curious if anyone could confirm that the old item sets can drop at vr15-16?

I.e., in cyrodil chests. Can you find martial knowledge pieces in vr15-16 if your character is vr15-16?

Wouldn't this be true for cyrodil chests as well, these scale to your level.

Possibly, assuming there isn't a VR14 cap for Cyrodiil.

Can confirm that for martial knowledge pieces they did not scale up to VR15 after looting them from a delve boss in Cyrodiil.

    Instead I got a VR14 version despite being VR15.
    Character: Telel
    Class: Night Blade-Werewolf-viking-ninja-catgirl-mallet wielder
Past times: Refusing to go full magika spec, hitting things with a big hammer, sniping, and speaking in khajiit
Also: Gelel the Derp Knight, Altsel the streaker, and Filafel the temp temp.

Khajiit has a twitch stream! https://twitch.tv/telel_khajiit feel free to come see how truly unskilled Telel is.

    Alt: Argonian Dragonknight (Stam DoTs/Tank) 5H/2M - S&B + Bow

The bosses did not scale to level. In fact, they would drop at VR12 on live, so glad to hear they drop VR14 reg now.

I spoke to Wrobel about it after the QuakeCon panel last Friday and he confirmed that the old sets (MK/Worm/Ebon) would not scale up to v15/16.

First off, don't get me wrong, I love the game and all. I particularly enjoy crafting.

But... am I the only one who is starting to think it is getting a bit... well, messy?.. for want of a better word.

You get some motifs from books found in containers, some recipes from containers, some recipes only from fragments in writs, some motifs from pages in certain containers, and others you have to find pages and bind them together to make another page
Some come singly, and some come in goodness knows how many parts
You can harvest mats from nodes, apart from the ones you get from particular mobs. And some of those you can get from deconstruction, but then you need to find the style materials which could be on sale from an NPC for gold, but some you can only buy from an NPC with tel'var stones, some come from nodes in a particular part of a particular zone, others are only dropped from a particular mob, and some come mostly from treasure chests.

    *Head explodes*

I am starting to feel as though the crafting system was like one of those "3 word story" games that some forums enjoy playing, with 50 contributors all with different ideas on how it should work. There is a lack of cohesion in the crafting system at this point.

I'm actually really likeing the increasing complexity in aquiring the different motif styles, mostly because motifs are NOT required for crafting.
    It's a nice to have.

Making my armour in the dwemer style didn't make it better.

    Nirnhoned pisses me off though.
Finding it is SUCH a pain.
I would be much happier if they made getting nirn much easier, either increase the drop rate or put it in boss loot in Craglorn or something.

Mind blown if this is true.

Why make 95% of the ingame sets phase out leaving roughly 2 dozen to choose from, of which maybe 2 apply to your class/role?

I don't understand. In the patch notes it said:
    Dungeon Scaling
Every Dungeon now scales up to Veteran Rank 16 which will allow items, such as Monster Masks, to drop at the highest achievable level.

Why would that not include Worm Cult and Ebon Armory? Can somebody test this for sure on the PTS?
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

I agree, motifs are not *required* - but there are people in game who mostly make their coin from crafting, and having the ability to craft every style is a big selling point when they are offering their services.

It's not that I don't want it to be complex, or that I don't want it to be longwinded (I mean after all, most of us who craft have spent close to a year on trait research, so it isn't something that is achieved quickly) - it's just that it is very... messy. Every new thing that has been added has some different method of obtaining the motif, or obtaining mats - my slight gripe has nothing to do with the amount of time and effort spent learning to do it, but it just isn't a consistent system at this point.

Which is very simply to do, simply by making then have different options than the current ones.

The new ones have alot more PvP focused stats. However, the older ones provide some different , yet usable skills as well.

It is really poor game design to cut out huge portions of the available items simply to force players into a new content area.

    Really hoping they rethink this.

Any chance we could have you check with the Dev team for a definitive answer on what will be scaled to VR16 and what won't?
There are a few threads like this now and many people want to know what sets will now have VR16 versions.

Additionally as a sneaky bonus can you see if there are any plans/time frame for when sets which cap out at non-vet or low-vet levels will be revised and have full level variants?

The sad truth is, that apart from the monster helmets, no of the other sets will be found in VR15/VR16 in the dugeons. That is at least a complete waste of potiential. So we have to farm only the 2 new dungeons, because all the old are not interesting.

I am sad. I thought we will have a big pool of sets to choose from. But... I don't understand, why they doing this...
