DPS mage question

i recently seen someone say that crit based builds very viable in the past but now everyone focuses on max magicka and spell power for DPS. but from what i tested putting point into all magicka did nothing but raise my max magicka. at the moment for my dps mage i have all my points into health and stat wise i have 25k health and 13k magicka. good or bad?

In my opinion you have too much health and too little magicka. Especially as a sorcerer who has a strong shield you should be able to play with lower health.
The strength of your spells depends on your maximum magicka and spell damage. I'm certain that you will do much less damage with your char than someone with 30k+ magicka.

Why would you name this topic mage dps when you are a dk?

OT: the dmg done by spells is based of off magicka and spell dmg. Spell crit is viable again I guess. But whats the point? Justax out spell dmg and magicka for high dmg..

because the term "mage" means using spells and a staff yes? i maybe be a DK but i use spells and a staff.. i.e. fire MAGE.......................................................................................

Most people see mage and think sorcerer here. You'd get more help if your title mentioned magicka DK instead.

Maybe in most games but not in ESO. Every single class has spells and every class can use a staff.

As someone focused on a magic build you definitely want more points into magic, yes it increases your max magic but the biggest thing it does is make your magicka based skills stronger. You can see the difference if you look at the tooltip for one of your spells, the numbers will go up the more magicka you put in. So, your heals will be stronger, your damage will be more.

In case this was a serious question: You want around 35k Magicka and 2k Spell Damage as a Mage Build.

i guess i didnt think the magicka did anything but increase my magicka pool because it definitly didnt do anything to my spell power like i thought i read some where. it did increase my spell dmg's though which i never noticed till now lol. thanks guys
