PvP Alliance Point Healing Question?

Hey everyone, I have a question that I reallyyy need answered, try to help me out if you can:)

So I recently started to PvP again and now I'm a healer, and so far, I like it.

But... the only reason I'm a healer now is because a former emp told me that if you heal anyone, your allies, it "tags" them, and when they kill an enemy, you get some of that AP, and at this point I believe him, as it definitely seems to be working.

However, my question comes from his other comment that you should always be in a group to get the extra AP, so what happens if i heal other allies that are not in my group and they get a kill? Will I get some of that AP as well? Or only from people in my group?

I tend to run in a duo group a lot of the time and find that my heals on others give me AP. It's like only 8-15 AP per player that was recently engaged in combat from what I can tell, but that does add up.

I am also about half a level ahead (in alliance war skill lines) of my duo partner due to healing this way. Definitely a noticeable difference. Spam that rapid regen... :-)

Yes, you will get AP if the guy you're healing kills someone, regardless of him being in your group.

But, this doesn't really mean you need to play healer to get more AP solo, because any build can equip a resto staff and put HoT's on allies nearby. Dropping caltrops or large radius AoE on everyone fighting, is a another way to tag all kills.

This is a behaviour you will see a lot of if being around mindless zerg fights, pretty much everyone is spamming leechagen, caltrops, Vigor like crazy to tag kills.

Should also considered that healers get very little xp towards levels or CP in PvP. Because xp from kills is capped after 12+ players, or a normal raid size. So if you're in a large raid, half the guys get 0 xp from kills done by the raid, usually those guys are healers, tank, support or lower levels, since they cant do enough dmg to the target to get xp credit.

So my advice, dont play heal unless you enjoy it. Dps is more rewarding in PvP.
