The Delagraht family of Bosmer are a curious family to say the least, existing almost as long as the Bosmer themselves, although they are not traditional Bosmer in the sense of the usual hunter and cannibalistic side, and that can be evidenced by the first Delagraht to be noted in history Zamus Delagraht.
Zamus was strange for a Bosmer. As he'd developed a strong connection to the magical ways of their Altmer cousins, more specifically he was a very talented healer, which was unusual for a wood elf, he and his son Tiadul, under the blessing of the Bosmeri king created the Dryear Tylar, The Champions of the Healers.
This order would be fundamental to the Bosmeri people of Valenwood during the many conflicts they had to repel, and soon, the first true Delagraht was born, to lead this order, Ferathal Delagraht.
Though the long lives of the Mer were not the case for the Delagrahts, as both Zamus and Tiadul were both slain in battle fending off the forces from modern day Cyrodiil, this was when Ferathal had to take the family, and the orders name for his own, he birthed a son, being told the Delagraht naming method of a male name ending in Thal, as it meant healer, his son was Gilthal, and thus the family lived in.
Further down the line there was Anthal Delagraht, who would father the three most interesting of the Delagraht bloodline, Zathal, Kathal and Eirthal.
First was Zathal, or Royal Healer as his name translated, he was to be married to the Bosmeri kings daughter, and thus be destined for great things, though he sought a different woman's hand in marriage, and had no desire to lead the people of Valenwood, soon he married Baelvara, and the two moved to Auridon, where Zathal enlisted in the military of the Aldmeri Dominion.
Anthal was furious at this, casting Zathal out of the Dryear Tylar for the dishonourable attitude he displayed, all but denouncing Zathal, though he had hope in his second son, Eirthal, who was a very skilled politician, a sharp mind and tongue were his arsenal, and he moved to Auridon in order to become a person of nobility, where he became Lord Eirthal Delagraht, marrying the beautiful Altmer battlemage Lierwen, it was during his time as a lord that he had met up with his brother again, wounded as he was and serving in a small company if four, they traveled together for some time, Eirthal had great respect for Zathal and sent word to his father that they had reunited, they were to make for an unspecified location to search for a stone, which Eirthal mention to their father, though Zathal had to depart for Haven, which Eirthal sent his wife along with him for protection.
It was there, in what can only be described as the "Haven Incident" he returned to the meeting spot where his brother was supposed to be, though he found only corpses and ruin, amongst the bodies lay his brother, throat slashed cloaked assassins lay around him, he found a contract, his own father had hired a hit on him, and Eirthal was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Zathal had two daughters and a son, Liryanne, Meriel and Arithal.
He and Meriel had never seen eye to eye, she was barely in her twenties at the time of the "Haven Incident" and after that she had little trust for her father, or even anyone, though agreed to assist her father in taking down Anthal for the death of her uncle.
The two stormed the Delagraht home in Elden Root and slaughtered all in the Dryear Tylar who stood between them and their murderous flesh and blood, it was a long gruelling battle, in which Zathals other brother, Kathal defended his father ruthlessly and presented a challenge, it is said that Kathal struck a near lethal blow against Meriel, which is why she tattoos her body, to hide the scar, it is also said that Kathal was struck down by his brother, others argue he got away, only Zathal and his daughter knows the truth, what is known is that Anthal lay dead by the end, as well as many of the Dryear Tylar, the slaughter was ceased when both Bosmer were apprehended by the guards, whom they'd fought off a fair few, they were hauled into prison, to be executed.
Though when word spread of the twos excellent display of ferocity and skill, plus the reasoning behind the attack and that Molag Bal was invading Nirn, the Dominion needed every able fighter they had, and so they were pardoned, on condition that they assist the Dominion, which they did, Zathal took control of the Dryear Tylar and reinstated it, only a few members remained when he reinstated the order as The Aldmeri Wardens, one of them being Raeneth Alavir, quickly the Wardens grew in number and strength, including the mighty Huzir, the Wardens were a presence that the alliances, and Molag Bal, did not take lightly, although Meriel joined the Wardens after her father reinstated them , she would not represent them as her father did, only she would carry out her missions from the shadows, and never would she be seen in the presence of her father, due to the incidents previously.
Though how the Delagrahts will fare in the rest of time is yet to be seen.
