Shadow Image on rocks, around walls, in towers or whatever.
Jump down or run around the corner and port back, then use cloak.
Works 90% of the time against groups no matter of size and works always in 1v1.

It's still slower than Maneuver, Bow roll and sprint - which is available for everyone.

For magicka NBs: Rapid Maneuver + Dark Cloak every 2.9s (with Concealed Weapon slotted) is also very fast, plus you're completely stealthed while moving. I havent tried this in combination while being a vampire but I think it would be even faster.

Fast, but not faster than the possible speed available for everyone.

Don't listen to him OP. Many NB have builds for just that purpose. High DPS and build for evasion and escape. They are not going to stand toe to toe cuz they are not built for it. So if that is what you want to play I say go for it and don't apologize for it. It's pretty funny to see these guys that expect you to look them in the eye when you kill them and think running away to fight another day somehow makes you "one of those guys." One of my builds is just that and it's fun as hell.
We'll see if the improvements to cloak help free up some action bar slots for things other than speed and escape. Will be nice considering the hit in dps we gankers will be gettting. The dps hit is for everyone but those most effected will be assassin builds cuz if you can't put your enemy down in the first 3-4 hits your toast.
I think there's going to be a shift to more sustain builds with decent dps. We'll also be seeing a resurgence in magicka NB builds because dodge, block and damage nerfs = way less effective stam builds.

So you (and probably others) actually understand and think this is great for NBs, but you don't think sorcs should be able to do the same?

Well heck if that's your thinking then why not let DKs and Templars do it too?
Oh.... That's right. That would defeat the point of having different classes.

I was asking that particular player because I coulda sworn on multiple occasions (s)he has supported nerfing sorc skills because "sorcs shouldn't be able to get away" (paraphrased).
My "thinking" had nothing to do with DKs or Templars. If DKs or Templars want Cloak or BE, then they gotta roll an NB or sorc. Though I'd recommend NB looking at the announced changes.
So tell me, what is your thinking exactly? I don't understand the point of your post to me.

I misunderstood the context of your post. I thought you meant to imply sorcerers should have similar cloaking abilities. I wasn't aware of any previous discussion. Apologies.

All that said...as much as I detest Sorc's as a class I believe folks and ZoS really need to ensure BE works as a method of escape. There has to be some expectation when a sorc needs to use it they will have a depleted magicka pool from fighting. If the exponential increase means they have no way to cast it more than 2-3 times then they are going to die alot. They will be caught and have little to no magicka to fight. If ZoS does this they need to be all over the situation monitoring it so as to make micro adjustments fast to balance it out. They can't be in a situation where PvP balance is all out of whack the other way and then wait months to adjust it. They need to be ready to make adjustments within 2 weeks of the changes and every week after that. until it's right.
I'm looking forward to the new cloak candy but I have to put down some bias when considering BE. Right now I think it's OP. After 1.7 it risks not being useful for escape at all.
