Escape During Pvp?

Alright. My new character is a nightblade vampire who I'm designing to be that one person that ruins your day. She's still under construction, and I was wondering how I could escape before the person starts wailing on me. I know of the sorcerer ability, but I obviously don't have that. Her default is dual daggers, and alt is a bow. Beyond mistform, is there anything that can get me away and fast?

Note: fire damage is not an issue for her

Roll dodge followed imediately by cloak, repeat cloak right before it is about to wear off until you are far enough away, then enter stealth.

Roll dodge, cast Cloak, cast Double Take, and run away recasting Cloak and Double Take.

Aspect of Terror, then Cloak is my favorite escape maneuver

The other thing you can do is use Shadow Image to teleport, which is a morph of Summon Shade.

Cloak (for invis), Shadow Image (to mislead enemies), Crippling Graps (to snare target and speed buff self) or Retreating Maneuver (to remove snares and speedbuff self).

Cloak with vamp improved sneak is probably the easiest way to disappear.

Jump down or run around the corner and port back, then use cloak.

^ This but before cloaking away, you need to sit in chair to *** them off for the second or two it takes them to find you. Like at the gate tower.

Tip from a Templar built specifically to ruin the day of NBs. I only need to find you for .1 seconds. Cloak all you want. Once my lighting staff finds you it's curtains. I don't think people realize that lightning sticks to invisible characters.

Not in the next patch it won't.

I hate Nb's, cloak just annoys me, though half the time i just block and wait for them to suprise attack so i can uppercut them.

So, you want to create a build to ambush players, but if you can't get it done and start to lose, you want to be able to run away? Stick to PvE.

Don't listen to him OP. Many NB have builds for just that purpose. High DPS and build for evasion and escape. They are not going to stand toe to toe cuz they are not built for it. So if that is what you want to play I say go for it and don't apologize for it. It's pretty funny to see these guys that expect you to look them in the eye when you kill them and think running away to fight another day somehow makes you "one of those guys." One of my builds is just that and it's fun as hell.

We'll see if the improvements to cloak help free up some action bar slots for things other than speed and escape. Will be nice considering the hit in dps we gankers will be gettting. The dps hit is for everyone but those most effected will be assassin builds cuz if you can't put your enemy down in the first 3-4 hits your toast.

I think there's going to be a shift to more sustain builds with decent dps. We'll also be seeing a resurgence in magicka NB builds because dodge, block and damage nerfs = way less effective stam builds.

It's still slower than Maneuver, Bow roll and sprint - which is available for everyone.

For magicka NBs: Rapid Maneuver + Dark Cloak every 2.9s (with Concealed Weapon slotted) is also very fast, plus you're completely stealthed while moving. I havent tried this in combination while being a vampire but I think it would be even faster.

Fast, but not faster than the possible speed available for everyone.

True, but being invisible while moving fast is a huge benefit if you want to escape.
Currently we dont see too many magicka NBs in Cyrodiil but I think this will change with update 7.

What we are saying is use cloak to escape

But what we really mean is spam cloak over and over and hope that it lasts until you hit the button again.

Well heck if that's your thinking then why not let DKs and Templars do it too?

Oh.... That's right. That would defeat the point of having different classes.

Oh.... That's right. That would defeat the point of having different classes.

I was asking that particular player because I coulda sworn on multiple occasions (s)he has supported nerfing sorc skills because "sorcs shouldn't be able to get away" (paraphrased).

My "thinking" had nothing to do with DKs or Templars. If DKs or Templars want Cloak or BE, then they gotta roll an NB or sorc. Though I'd recommend NB looking at the announced changes.

So tell me, what is your thinking exactly? I don't understand the point of your post to me.

Actually I'm not asking for sorcs BE to be nerfed in the way it's being done. On the contrary I think it should be an effective escape tool. I do believe it should not be as multi-purpose as it is now though. Socs should have to break CC with Stamina before they can bolt escape. As it is now they don't. They just BE even with talons clamping their feet. Also I think Streak stun/disorient needs to be less effective. I do not really care about increasing BE costs. They should be able to get away but there needs to be some other points of failure in the skill.

You are correct in saying I've been vocal about Bolt Escape. I'll refer you to another post I made expressing caution in nerfing it.
    Vizier wrote: »
All that said...as much as I detest Sorc's as a class I believe folks and ZoS really need to ensure BE works as a method of escape. There has to be some expectation when a sorc needs to use it they will have a depleted magicka pool from fighting. If the exponential increase means they have no way to cast it more than 2-3 times then they are going to die alot. They will be caught and have little to no magicka to fight. If ZoS does this they need to be all over the situation monitoring it so as to make micro adjustments fast to balance it out. They can't be in a situation where PvP balance is all out of whack the other way and then wait months to adjust it. They need to be ready to make adjustments within 2 weeks of the changes and every week after that. until it's right.

I'm looking forward to the new cloak candy but I have to put down some bias when considering BE. Right now I think it's OP. After 1.7 it risks not being useful for escape at all.
