damade mitigation through stats and skills stack?

I know damage reduction from armor & resist is capped at 50%, but when you use Deep Slash such else, it gives additional 15% damage reduction and on top of that Nord passive gives 6%, plus champion points into stars that give flat-percentage based- reduction to certain damage types etc, all these stacks one another? Or this whole reduction mechanic is hard capped at 50%?

The hard cap for armor and spell mitigation is 50%, but other sources of mitigation can also add to this. Your armor and spell resist is the last thing that the damage goes through. So, if you are a Nord and got hit with a 2,000 damage attack, it would work like this. First, the 2,000 damage gets reduced by your 6% damage mitigation passive, which reduces it to 1,880 damage, then it gets mitigated by your physical armor (50% max), which brings it down to 940.

I've tested this out several times. I have an insane amount of mitigation with my setup.

If you want to know exactly how mitigation works ask Blinxey. He's figured out how to reduce it to next to nothing.

Why ask me, thought you had it all figured out Ezdeath?

The highest I have been able to get my mitigation up to so far is 90%.

How? A very specific build that I have thought about posting on here, but if I did the only thing that would do is generate cries for the nerf hammer.

All mitigation is multiplicative. Nothing is the last thing that the damage goes through.

And it's possible to get at least 98% damage reduction without bugs or exploits.

I've found how to get to 90%. Guess I'll have to figure out how to get to 98%. I've only tested this on my DK, so maybe another class can get even higher mitigation.

I can get 86% for 10 seconds on my templar without any CP or very specific gear and no mist form. And 70% permanently as long as I'm in combat. But this is just in theory though, have to test that first :)
