Aldmeri Dominion, Missing quest, "Retaking the Pass"

I have been trying to continue on with the main quest line but 2 weeks ago I tried to start the quest "Retaking the Pass". however when I tried to talk to the quest giver "Bodring" the marker vanished, the quest had been removed from the log and from my journal. there is no way for me to continue on with this game. I have been coming back on every day to see if the problem has been fixed but as of yet, it has not. I sent a ticket into the customer service when the problem arose but i have received nothing but trouble shooting advice, none of which works. if anybody has a fix could you please let me know as i am eager to continue on with this game that I spent money on. otherwise I'll end up doing something stupid like throwing the disk out the window, which i don't want to do as it's a good game. thanks for any suggestions in advance.
