Health bar glitch after patch

I logged in after installing the patch, and since doing so my health bar has a black portion at either end. Is this intentional?
I have tried a number of things, such as taking damage and healing, eating food, and using damage shields, things that seemed to work when my health bar has bugged out in the past, but none seem to do anything for this issue.
Anyone else experience this or know what may be the solution?
