If you having trouble downloading teh big Update of 15gb try setting your DNS settings yourself from within Settings / Network.
I used DNS 1 = 198.153.194.50 DNS 2 = 198.153.192.50 This will connect you to the Nortons DNS database, my download speed has gone from 99+ hours to 105 mins.
There are other DNS options you can put it also, just google them and try which 1 suits you.

    BTW guys, when setting up your connection Manually only change the DNS settings leave everything else as it is.

    Yeah tried a few DNS now, just making it even slower unfortunately:(

    48 hours downloaded the whole game and patch in less than 5 this Monday just gone.

    Can anyone explain why this increases download speed? I switched to openDNS on my 100 mbps fiber connection and went from 5 hours to 65 minutes. It definitely works. I just don't understand why it works.

    It works because a lot of players will be using the same DNS settings, so clogging up the system, if you switch DNS settings until your speed is faster downloading then you have hit a low population DNS. ( thats what I read anyway )

    Try again and keep pausing and unpausiing till you get a result it'll work . Telling me 72 mins now down from 99 hours after changing DNS maybe even manage a dungeon when I'm back home later if the speed holds. I used Google's dns 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8 enjoy

    To find out fastest DNS for YOU! You can try this: https://code.google.com/p/namebench/
    It doesn't make that much send posting various DNS servers cos the fastest one might be different for everyone.

    Mine test has been running for some minutes, then I will switch to the fastest DNS. The Google one is faster than 'automatic' for me, but not that much.

    Oh btw chaning MTU to 1473 magically helps even more (together with the DNS change). Mine says 30 mins to go now. Was 27 hours originally with default settings.

    Can someone explain the MTU thing?

    ok got it flying now 9150.48 KB/s changed the DNS to the google ones but my MTU was already set to 1473 when i changed some months back, had to pause the download acouple of times to get it working better, oh and i restarted my PS4 just to see if that made any difference, with the google dns as the network settings.

    ok all done at last, what a nightmare that was, a lot of pause and slow downloads and pause again, got there in the end.

    OMG!!!! i just wake up game not finish downloading. now its downloaded since patch comeout. if this gone happen evryweek this game will be delted and never more be played again and dont understand why i pay this eso montly fee, I have 100 mb fiber normal 15gb go down in 1 to 2 hour but now its still not finish after maybe 15 hour, ????? what is going on, u call server megaserver i will call it mega slow server. its only been problem with this game since day 1 login problem evryday when u come in u be disconected u come out from a dungon get a txt say this will take unusually long loading and so u be disconected after game try to load in 10 to 15 min this is crazy this game u pay for not good enough as beta....

    I've been taring my hair out with the slow download speed and I'm on 100mb+ connection but this is the one that worked for me.

    Gone down from 99+ hours to 22 minutes

    i can't believe i had to manually edit my settings... when the rest of the sony games download in less than an hour at 50 gig.

    This is ... facepalm worthy ...

    and they don't even mention it (like a lot of bugs)

    I combined the advice from all three of you (used UK DNS settings and changed MTU to 1473) and got the download down from 66 hours to 5 hours.

    That's still a painfully long time when I have a 74 mb connection but it's peak hours here so at least I can be relatively confident that leaving it downloading overnight will work...

    ....I hope!

    Pretty ridiculous that we're having to mess about like this after forking out for a game though!!

    Thank you Kexlar. Being UK based this took me from 16 hours for the final 5GB to 57 minutes.

    Sped mine up using an ethernet cord to my modem. No wifi for me anymore. knocked it from 32 hours to a hour and change.
