Email address format is invalid HELP

I keep getting the message *Email address format is invalid* when trying to make a new account entering in my email address. I have carefully typed all the characters and it is my registered email but nothing is working.
NOTE - I have unlinked my Playstation account from my ESO account but I am trying to reverse that.
