Single-Target DPS Nightblade Build Input

Leonidas33
Leonidas33
Soul Shriven
Redguard nightblade with medium armor and 2 handed weapon. I'm going for single-target dps. Here's what I've come up with; let me know what you think:

It's interesting that you took Forward Momentum rather than Rally. Rally is much better at survival but im guessing you needed another way to remove snares and heals you at the same time. I would still recommend Rally though.

Imo however, you should take either Reaper's Mark or Killer's Blade and put in Shadowy Disguise for the crit. You dont necessarily need the cloak; it will help definitely but the crit proc is much better used in your single target dps.

You can always make use of Soul Harvest as your finisher, take away Killer's Blade or switch it to another bar and take Shadowy Disguise. so the rotation would be Mark - Rally - Ambush - Spam Wrecking Blow - Cloak just before Soul Harvest for the crit.

Can't see your other bar though so not too sure if you have one. If you do however, you can always put up a "Buff bar" and a "DPS bar" so you can always put both AOE and single target attacks on one bar and all the utility on the other.

    eg:
Brawler + Ambush + Killer's Blade + Mass Hysteria (change to Wrecking Blow for bosses) + Shadowy Disguise with Soul Tether or Flawless Dawnbreaker for ultimate

Rally + Reaper's Mark + Double Take + Swallow Soul + Evil Hunter (or Relentless Focus for the stamina regen bonus) with Soul Harvest (for the innate ultimate gain per kills) or Veil of Blades for emergency damage mitigation.

You can literally tank multiple mobs while stabbing them in the face, LAUGHING AT THEIR CORPSES.

    Ahem. yeah.

Wow thanks for the input. So just to be sure I understand, Shadowy Disguise would end up making my ultimate (Soul Harvest or Soul Tether) my finisher? And I was saving my other bar for my Bow skills which I haven't even put any thought into yet.

See, Soul Harvest requires only 50 ultimate, which is a pittance compared to the other ults. Shadowy Disguise makes your next attack crit, which will increase the damage of your Ultimate i believe. Even if it doesnt, you can always use it to buff your Ambush, which in turn buffs your Wrecking Blow. as you spam Wrecking blow.

This buff will also stack with Major Berserk from Reaper's Mark and Relentless Focus / Evil Hunter minor buffs. It also stacks with Rally, which is Major Savagery. As you kill mobs with Killer's Blade, you also benefit from the slotted passive of Swallow Soul.

Try out this bar first, see if it suits you before thinking of putting in the Bow. Yeah its needed ingame but i find spreading yourself too thin for the first 30 lvls is inadvisable and impractical. If you need help ingame, holler to @RavenSworn from Lone Wolf Help or anyone from that guild. Better yet, join us :D, send a msg to Morgueblade or Ur Quan or MissBizz or anyone from the guild. Good luck and happy hunting!

Ok I'll give this a try. How about my magicka : stamina : health ratio? I was thinking 2 magicka to 2 stamina to 1 health. My thinking is the slight majority of my skills cost magicka, but i still have some stamina skills and I'll be pairing wrecking blow with a heavy attack, but I still don't want to be too squishy.

as for leveling, i don't really recommend anything else except to put 1:3 for health:stamina. don't need to put magicka as this is not really needed as your magicka is for utility spells, rather than damage ones. you can also reduce magicka cost via CP which is better since that doesn't affect your resource pool or whatsoever.

The bar I've given you is mostly Stamina based so focus on stamina for damage. You can also use Light armor in conjunction with medium so you have a bit of magicka bonuses. A full set is 5 piece so you can use a 5:2 ratio for medium and light armor.

    Hope this helps mate.

Both DW, 2hand, and bow are all viable. The setup below is what I would recommend regardless of what weapon you do decide to use. (DW and 2hand have the 6% bonus damage so if you prefer meele I'd recommend them over bow for leveling, whereas a bow is great for pvp)

Steel tornado is really best if you plan to AOE grind. However, unless you plan on doing that this is the setup I would highly recommend running for quest grinding (This is what I ran in closed beta and release).

1: Surprise Attack (High damage heavy hitter) Use this every other ability.
2: Killer's Blade (Execute and self heal) Spam this when a mob is below 25% health for the self heal.
3: Ambush (Distance closer and stun) You will rotate this ability with Surprise Attack for huge damage, and constant stuns
4: Siphoning Attacks (If you are really struggling for health you could try Leeching Strikes) I know this might seem counter productive with the weapon damage reduction but the chance of 15% stamina restoration is huge. This lets you keep spamming those Ambush attacks, resulting in more stun, and thus less damage taken overall. This is INCREDIBLY useful for those elite targets.
5: Below 42 in Siphoning this is a free slot. Use whatever you feel comfortable with or wish to level up. Once you reach 42 in siphoning I'd use Power Extraction. This is an AOE damage dealer that heals you AND increases your weapon damage (This will bring you back to even from using Siphoning Attacks)

Run this setup and you will breeze through everything

You have killer's blade and soul swallow on different bars, so how does killer's blade benefit from that?
