Meteor causing lag its time for Zenimax to respond.

Ok we have a lot of guilds that refuse to run Meteor because its causing server lag. But there are also a lot of those who continue to use it. We are trying to do what is best for this game by eliminating issues of lag while the others are taking advantage of it and yes Meteor is a great spell and gives an advantage to any group using it. Zeni its time for you to disable this ability in cyrodiil until you can get a good fix for it. The players who actually care about the status of this game are taking tons of damage from those who don't give a crap and using a very strong damage ability anyways.

I think the problem is more than just meteor, but I do think it contributes. I think it's all the game checks on many of the AoE's (especially ones with multiple effects on top of basic damage). I don't think taking meteor out would fix anything, but it would be interesting to see it tested for a week to find out for sure. I did actually get lag by myself once in pve using meteor and dropping it on a bunch of mobs, it was just for a moment, but I could imagine that amplified by multiple players and the game needing to send that info to all those players computers, etc.

This is one in many skills that contributes to lag. Its never the one that starts the lag either so - doesnt really change anything.
