apply a 60% Damage reduction from player sources and a 30% block cost increase as a buff in cyrodiil till you fix things.
least them cyrodiil might be moderatly playable.

    hey gotta try something, atm i'v had 6 people quit till it gets fixed and if the logic of 1 = 100 in customer service applies here thats likely to be 600 people somewhere in ESO who have done the same.

    Yep had a few of my friends stop pvping until they fix that issue, even with the tools we were given to help prevent these things, they are pretty much useless. Anti gank groups can keep them off a few people then when the area gets to hot they move off to some other unsuspecting souls.

    getting ganked? keep damage shields up when playing light armor, when shot quickly break free and dodge role then cast defensive *** and animation cancel the skill with another dodge or just blockcast your defensive stuff depending on your build.

    ps: and i hope you're ot using the "build" from your sig...

    Alternately, learn to not die so much.

    Proper use of active defenses cuts your deaths a lot. It doesn't eliminate all 1-second burst-deaths (and I think there's something fishy about the way some players manage it), but it will cut way down on them. If you know when to block, dodge and cast the right stuff, you live a lot longer.

    Low TTK is bad. But high TTK, where groups sit around and heal everyone until folks peel off from boredom... that's worse.

    yes i do.

    and the issue isn't so much "omg i suck i need to learn to play!" it's the largely known current time it takes to kill someone being so short it hardly makes pvp any fun. i'v had plenty a time where we will wipe out an equal sized wave within seconds and vice versa while even a one on one can end within 2-3 seconds, that's with protection bubbles.

    Your build doesn't include any shielding/damage return and no way to escape...no wonder you die a lot.
    Sorcs are one of the most defensive classes...and you're all offense? I hope these are on your other bar.

    Do you also "quickly weapon swap" or "quickly use a potion".

    Are we playing the same game?

    There are times when I'm(using 5 heavy + sword and board) die before I even manage to shake of the cc. This because getting someone's health down to 0 from sneak, can be a lot faster than sluggish break free + defensive move.

    If they cant fix the game and make it 100% responsive and smooth, dont allow builds to dish out 30k single target dps in 1 second. It's bad design.

    I watch a twitch stream of an ista- jibber gibber what ever we call them, I am amazed 100% of the attacks are crits and crit for anything from 15k to 24k most all players die before they can even respond, I am not putting the name of the person in forums but will share if you want to know who and can watch the stream, you have to search for them on twitch.
    Something I hope they are looking into with the balance pass that is coming.

    I perfectly understand you but you will not adress anybody here in the forums because:
    • Most guys replying are the guys who play burst-builds
    • above 50% of readers play in larger groups / zerg trains (and the console thing drew many single players away to gamepads^^, this is no joke but true) as the only viable way for them
    • Many play sorcerer
    • There is no "real beginner" here, most play 2-x twinks.
    • And a very big part of players: has already heavily invested into +weapon power items (to get their 2,5k+ base weapon damage) and Nirn-traits (you can watch prices in all major guild stores as further proof [especially stamina/weapon-build oriented items])
    • why should I help any attempt to nurf the current state of the game, if I have invested millions in my hyper-burst build or in my 30k+ magic-resi's build? Right! I won't do so!

    But the worst thing for me is that there is no real "we apologize" from the developer. As it seems to me, they think their actual "balancing" is the best pvp they ever made. This all started with bows hitting for 2k+ damage looong before the 1.6 patch. That developers failed to recognize, how far single players are able to push their damage output. On the other hand, they show no interest for the victims that get insta-gibbed right and left. No, they promote greedy play. They promote zerg-balling and they further promote disparities. They took away camps, and re-introducing them is taking ages and just to let you know who is the BOSS in this game: they cut your HP a felt 30%.
    The only way to circumvent this heavy HP-TAKEAWAY is to play in a group.
    The only way to better protect from burst is to play in a group.
    The only way to participate in a camp-free PvP is also to play in groups, except you are a outperforming player with burst-spec who is able to stay alive far behind the enemy lines
    The new inc pvp-content will also (maybe I'm wrong) push group-play.

    I know it is sad but there is no other way, if you want to succeed in future pvp, you have to look for a group and you have to be a hamster :smiley:

    I mostly play in small groups with a nb that has about 2k weapon damage and 15k spell resist. But I think that the changes suggested in the op wouldn't be good for the game as it would become impossible to win against bigger groups that stack on crown and spam heals / shields.

    emphasis on temporary fix, i know it's no cure, but we need some sort of bandage before this damage becomes a major off putter, consoles are already getting... "abused" shall we say? by these same power bursts, we need some equilibrium else it'll give ESO a worse rep then it already has for being bug filled and unbalanced.

    considering i play solo the majority of the time and have no fascination with being competitive currently due to the fact i was away nearly 8 months from now so massively behind on progress, no.

    If you just lower the damage a lot, high damage specs are not efficient anymore and everyone is going to run around in defensive regen builds. And since you don't actually lower available build resources, everyone will have an easy time running around with unlimited resources. That's my guess at least. And not one I'd want to try out, sounds very boring.
