Feasibility of magic/sword combo in pve?

I'm presently installing ESOTU to my Xbone & trying to settle on a build. I'm wanting to recreate a fun one I used in Skyrim a lot; namely, a heavy armor wearing Dunmer with a sword in one hand and a summon/spell in the other. Is this feasible in ESO? What base class would I want to go with, Sorceror? Maybe a mix of heavy & light armors? I've spent significant time searching other people's builds online, and haven't found anything close to what I'm planning--which implies that it's a fool's errand. Thoughts?

This game doesn't use spells hand-in-hand, you will have your weapon(s) and you will have your 5 skill/spell slots and 1 Ultimate slot.

Feel free to mix and match spells with all sorts of weapon types. Also note that staves are normal weapons and don't require a charge like traditional elder scrolls games.

Keep in mind that your magicka damage output is based on how much magicka you have and your weapon damage & weapon skills (excluding staves because they're magicka based) relies on your maximum stamina. That is to say, one fireball is going to do more damage when you are packing a 30k magicka pool.

Having both heavy and light armor is a cool way to have high armor and magicka resistance, though most builds are in full light armor and rely on defense buffs to cover the heavy armor because you will have a much higher magicka regeneration with full light armor.

I always try to make my own weird builds but players min/max builds in pvp made me quit.

Unfortunately, hybrid builds such as the one you say are not optimal in endgame or in the min/max environment of trials and PvP.

However, what you can do is to go either magicka or Stamina and make that your primary damage resource. Use the other resource as your utility resource. This way, you make full use of both resource without needing to go hybrid on stats.

For eg: a stamina sorcerer, using critical surge, calling out his Clannfear and using endless Fury for Mana regain *** execute while using wrecking blow, executioner, critical rush and brawler for his main damage output.

Or a magicka Templar, using Destructive clench and binding javelin ( stamina Morph) giving him access to two cc, using two different resource.

Its really up to your imagination on how to use your resources to its optimum usage. Good luck!
