Is ESO Plus worth buying or should I just purchase the Crowns that I need?

Some people are far enough ahead they don't care about the 10% bonuses. Personally, I like that extra gold and shorter research times.

If you are ONLY doing it for the crowns, you are better off to buy a large crown pack.

We currently have no DLC - this makes an impact. When we do have DLC - ESO plus members will have access to all DLC as long as they have an active membership (are paying). People without it will have to purchase DLC individually, but will have it forever.

My opinion is absolutely not worth it. Buy crowns for what you want for now. When they start announcing DLC and such Soon(tm) then I would consider it.

The maps should have been mailed to you on the first character you created. There is a known issue where you may have received the mail, but no maps were attached.

If so, send in a help ticket. It obviously won't be resolved immediately, but hopefully that will mean once they find a fix they can send you your maps

I got the Explorer pack and received everything but the treasure maps. Is there any recourse for this? I submitted a ticket but was told to contact Microsoft. Not sure how they can help since the add-on shows as installed and I did receive the other perks in the pack. There just wasn't any maps attached to the in-game email.

This is something we're actively investigating. Unfortunately we don't have an ETA for a fix quite yet, but we are working on it!

The correct answer as to whether ESO plus is worth it is this:

It depends.

Do you expect that you would be buying at least 1500 Crowns worth of items per 30 day period anyway? If no, don't subscribe. If yes, move on to the next question.

Do you expect that, if you were to buy Crowns in packs rather than subscribe, you would buy them in packs of 750 or 1500 rather than larger packs? If yes, then subscribe. If no, move on to the next question.

Is the 10% bonus to gold, XP, inspiration, and research time important enough to you to be worth the slightly higher price you pay for a subscription compared to the largest bulk pack of Crowns? If yes, then subscribe. If no, move on to the next question.

Do you care more about supporting ZOS than getting the most bang for your buck? If yes, then subscribe. If no, then don't.

So the answer is going to be different for each person depending on how you answer those questions. For me the answer ended up being "subscribe" when I hit the 3rd question on my list above. Of course, once there's actually some DLC available, a new question gets added to the list above, and I'm sure that it will change the equation significantly for a lot of people.

On PS4 I had to go into the playstation store and enter my game code that came with it under "redeem codes". Should be a little piece of paper in the game box where the game booklet it

Frankly while no DLC exists I would not bother either buying crowns or subscribing. UrQuan makes valid points and I think his post is a good basis on which to make a decision.

So to sum up, if you are starting a new char today then its absolutely worth it... plus by the time you are vr14 new content will be out and again its free for subscribers

Purchase crowns when you need to, if there'll ever be something worth getting that isn't cosmetic.

Tbh, I don't find the plus membership worth it at all, considering that they're doing nothing to retain PC population.

Personally I think you should sub for a month or two, then unsub for a month to see if you miss it.

This is what i am wondering actually. I just started my first character. I am lvl 10. Is the 10% exp bonus worth the 14.99 is what my big attraction is at the moment.

well, think about it this way, when it comes time for the expansions, you'll be buying the crowns anyways. instead of one large purchase, why not just get the sub, save up the crowns you were going to be getting anyways AND getting the 10% to everything along the way. was a no brainer for me.

it's automatic. when you're an eso plus subscriber, just go to your character sheet, scroll down to active effects, and you'll see ESO Plus Member listed.

Hi, not to hijack your thread OP, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether you can still get the loyalty pets by subscribing to ESO Plus. I'd like to know this because it influences whether I would subscribe or not.

The Plus membership is well worth it, especially if they bring back a Loyalty program. Maybe give us the first Dwemer mount for subscribing.

I just started and could care less. Like everquest that eternal point system they added is worthless for basic game mechanic because then everything becomes easier and easier and will come in it's due time. So no just buy the crowns IMO.

I ran with a sub from Day One.

When things went B2P I still kept it going and didn't truly notice the "boost" from the plus membership. That is until I dropped my sub because of crash issues.

I am running a, work around, for the crashes and started to play again, with out the boosts from the Plus Membership. WoW!, I really noticed it then.

I just re-subed the other day and personally I find it worth while. The 10% gains are very helpful.

As for the Crowns you get with the sub, well..... I have only purchased one item with them, The Experience Scroll pack; I want to see if they are worth it for Vet leveling. Other than that, the motifs are the only other items I may purchase in the future.

With the way ESO has been developed over the last few months, Real Life Time has become the most valuable commodity.
Experience gains have been " modded " to coincide with the introduction of Crown items; as an example, the Experience booster scrolls. With my personal play style The sub should give me all the Crowns I require.

Lets face facts..... ESO is a great game, but it IS a business. If you want to be able to get the most out of it, without spending all your free time playing it, you will be paying . I'll keep my sub till I feel that the costs out way the enjoyment I get from playing. The same can be said about buying Crowns.

It all comes down to what you want to Pay 2 Play; A.K.A. B2P.

Duece, enter your code from the box with the "Redeem Code" function on your console/PC. You will receive an email with a thanks that you have activated the Explorer's Pack. Within that email there are 4 'bags' attached.
You will need to press Y or Triangle (i believe) to take the attachments out of the mail.
The mail will be valid for 30 days after you've entered the code of your explorers pack, I believe you are able to delete the email accidently... hope you didn't.

Personally I love it that 10% bonus is really nice. When I got my 1500 crown + 500 crown for buying the game I went ahead and bought 750 crown then when and got the imperial upgrade.

True, but you really benefit from that bonus , with a new avatar. I once realized this with my lvl 10 sorcerer avatar , before I aplplied the bounus:[ I basically "loaned" her some gold because she was always broke lol! Still burned through it lol! And getting the monthly crown allowance isn't a bad perk either. But, were it will actually be worth the $14.99, will be the dlc?
