Can someone explain backlash to me and the best time to use it in pvp? Do i need to open with it? Im using destro magika ranged dps build

There is no "best time" for it in pvp at all. pve only skill.

I wouldn't use it in PvE either. It has a clunky cast which together with the 6 second proc time doesn't really justify its maximum damage.

i wouldn't use it on normal solo grinding though, in most cases. things just die too fast to really see backlash's potential.
