What does the GREEN lettering mean when you are assigning equipment? Some equipment is not green.

    It's the rarity of your item.
    Grey is Junk
    White = Normal
    Green = Fine
    Blue = Rare
    Purple = Epic
    Gold = Legendary
    Jeckll has quit the game. Thanks for the great time.

    I'm guessing you mean the quality of the equipment.

    White->Green->Blue->Purple->Yellow

    goes something like normal->fine->extraordinary->epic

    If you are referring to the colored names of equipment (the most common being white).

    Basically there's a common thing in RPG/MMOs that have quality levels for gear.

    The hierarchy is generally:

    White = Common
    Green = Fine
    Blue = Rare
    Purple = Epic
    Yellow = Legendary

    You'll find it in all sorts of games (Diablo, WoW, Borderlands, etc)

    In ESO you can via crafting improve gear using tannins, tempers and the like. So if you craft your own armor or find something you want to hold onto and make better, you can (with the right skills) make the item better.

    Think of it as white armor or weapons have imperfections and Legendary equipment has been honed to perfection.
