Server problems, Character glitches, Game crashes oh my!

Ya see I see myself as somewhat of an Elder Scrolls fan boy. I've been enthralled by the games since ESIII. The story, the lore, the art, all of it. Now when I heard we were going MMO with ES I was a bit worried, but my love for these games won out and I quickly became a champion for Elder Scrolls Online. I spent hours and hours watching all the updates of the progress towards consoles (where I primarily game) and tried to ignore the negative comments I'd hear from those who play it on PC.

Now it is time that I face the music though. It's here and it is quickly heading in the direction of a disaster. I spent 80$ on my preorder so I could get all the goodies and had a chunk set aside to spend on the Crown Store as well, since this is such a big deal to me, I had no problem investing some more money. Then it started. I had the game preloaded on my Xbox One waiting for 12:01. 12:01 comes around and the servers are so terrible I am not able to get in even after 2 and a half hours of trying so I decide to sleep and try it again in the AM. Sure enough I am able to get on and throw together a character and get questing. A FULL 10 AND A HALF HOURS AFTER IT WENT LIVE!

Being the positive guy I am I decided to chalk that one up to possibly my connection or something that is now fixed and won't be a problem again so I can dive in and enjoy Tamriel. Should have just stopped there and asked for my money back. I spent 12 hours 1030-1030 switching between a few different characters and exploring different areas. When I finally stuck with one of my characters for awhile I started noticing funny things going on. At first it was just one or two player characters who would show up as blacked out or silhouetted ghosts on my Xbox. Then it was half of them. Before I logged off it was almost every single other player showing up on my screen as a blacked out body shape. Really *** on the immersion into the game.

During this 12 hour trial I put myself through I got to experience other *** instances as well. For example when wandering through town in Daggerfall and setting up my first character I used a heal spell on myself and was attacked by the guards. I had 0 gold to pay my bounty so I just fled which increased my bounty. Thanks to that little mess up I had to wander around and not enter Daggerfall and not start any of the beginner quests until my bounty dropped. Thanks! But to me the worst one so far has been the NPC glitches. Over that span of 12 hours I had to start ignoring quests one by one because the NPC that I have to talk to won't show up. I will go to the location, I will even find the exact location he/she is at and their name will be there as if you are targeting them, but no character model is there and you cannot interact with them! GAMEBREAKER! Turns out the fix to this is to reset your entire Xbox and log back in. Seems easy enough if it was just one or two. Problem is I had 14 quests stuck like this at one point. On top of the number of missing NPCs the log in time ranges from 15mins-1.5hours for me sitting in the queue! If it fixed them all and I could do them all I would still attempt to continue on and give the benefit of the doubt that these problems are fixed.

This is where I am currently. Today I logged on begrudgingly because last night the game crashed when I was just walking around and after over and hour of waiting in the queue to hop on the server I went to bed because I got nothing. Today is a new day I told myself. They've been working and fixing it up, I shouldn't have any problem! WRONG! I log in after waiting 15 minutes, found out that 2 of the NPCs that were inaccessible were showing up and got excited. But alas, that was short lived. The game froze up walking through town and started buzzing loudly. I attempted to get back to the Xbox homescreen to close out ESO, but that wouldn't even work. Had to hard reset. After that I decided to test it out one more time and was met with the extremely long log in time and a wonderful crash about 15 minutes later. I keep running into scenarios where my character never leaves combat or is completely unable to enter it as well. Standing next to a group of 3 enemies and them ignoring you is funny, but game ruining. Especially when you're trying to kill them and play the game. In the time I have been writing this I have been in the queue. In fact I was in queue 10 minutes before I even started typing and JUST NOW I am logging in. Fingers crossed that I don't crash here in a couple minutes, because that is no way to live my life. ESO is really really wearing thin.

UPDATE: I decided to leave the area I was in just to test it out and I couldn't even get out of the dungeon before it crashed again. Please fix your game or give me my money back. I've already wasted oodles of time and it is getting really old.

Your damn right, still having all those issues. Black silhouettes every where, missing sellers and quest givers. Getting killed by things I can't see or hit, took me a while to figure out it was a game glitch. Bethesda should have just kept delaying the game until it actually worked.

Just thought I'd add my voice to the thread rather than create yet another one. Also been queued forever and had the game freeze THREE times already on me at different points. One was a black screen when loading the Watch Tower, another was when exploring the Del, and currently its frozen yet again in the middle of a blacksmithing session -- c'mon now, let's fix this!

By the way, the parts of the game I HAVE been able to explore I love and am enjoying, so just thought I'd throw that out there!

All this "I'M GONNA ASK FOR MY MONEY BACK!" is relatively amusing. I need time to kill until Fallout 4 comes out. ESO won't be going anywhere for awhile. I will return here every day until I am actually able to play this game. I will not be denied.

Well, after 27.5 hours of install time, from disc, on Xbox One and I'm now just sitting at a loading screen that periodically tells me my server connection has timed out. Now, my internet connection is a 1gb up/1gb down, wired, cable connection...so it's pretty clear to me which side the issue is on. This is ridiculous. It reminds me of the epic failure that was Myst Uru back when that first went live.

How could I have been so foolish to pay $80 and expect this game to work! For some reason I won't just give up either. I just keep coming right back for more heartbreak. *heavy sigh*

Gentlemen, I feel your pain. This situation is pretty disappointing. I was so hyped up about this game that I took time off from work. So far I've been able to stay logged in enough to reach level 5. I guess free to play is free for a reason.

Except this game isn't free to play. Warframe is a true free to play game. I paid $100 for my copy of ESO. At least my copy came with this lovely book to read while I wait.

Today seems better...I'm in, for now.

Well it sounds like, atleast some folks are getting past the load up that takes you to your toon. It has been 30 hrs + that I can't even get to my character. Just an endless screen, while the pictures are beautiful, with a spinning enblem in the bottom center is not what I paid for. I have tried to call zos support many times, only to be placed on hold never actually getting to talk, but able to listen to some wonderfully orchestrated eso theme music. Now between the endless load screen in game and the endless hold on the phone, i was of the opinion that all of zos was frozen. Until I came to the forums that is, now I see there are a whole slue of problems plagueing us. I really am not angery, just very frustrated at this point see it isn't only me that was involved both my sons and several of our friends from other games came here to experience this game together as a guild. Please, tell us something zos don't leave us hanging, because to me it feels like you won't pickup your phone to talk to a customer, that is having trouble with your product.

Im veteran rank 14. Ever since I left cyrodiil 2 days ago my character has been unable to do anything. I cannot confirm if it was that by leaving cyrodiil it caused the problems. These are the problems I currently face:

- I am unable to use my abilities. They just don't work. I activate an ability and it immediately cancels itself out upon activating. Shadowy Disguise doesn't turn me invisible, Relentless Focus does not make my weapons glow red or give me an aura and using Focused Aim just makes my character aim for half a second but that's it. I also receive no buffs from these abilities when I check my stats.

- My character is unable to sprint. I press the left stick in and sprint for 1 second and then it stops. This also happens if I am riding a mount. (If I am lucky enough to summon my mount)

- I cannot summon my mount. I own the Black Senche Panther, Senche Lioness, Frost Mare and the Midnight Steed. But for some reason whenever I press to buttom to summon my mount, a random brown horse wearing no saddle appears for 1 second, my character mounts, the horse disappears and my character is sitting through the floor and returns to standing. Sometimes nothing happens at all whenever I press the button to call my mount.

- I cannot crouch and enter stealth mode anywhere. That speaks for itself.

-I cannot stop blocking once I press the left trigger. My character can run whilst blocking. The only way to stop blocking is by sheathing my weapons.

I have tried every possible thing I could think of to solve the issue, such as:

-Logging in and out
-Quitting the game and restarting the game
-Hard reset on my console
-Cleared system cache
-Uninstalling and Reinstalling the game and update.
-Travelling in and out of Cyrodiil
-Allowing my charcter to be killed by NPC's and players in PvP
-Going offline and online
-Checked forums
-Resetting router

One person on the forums described a less severe version of my problem, the person explained that after leaving cyrodiil he couldn't use abilities, sprint, crouch and mount. He said his problem was solved by travelling in and out of cyrodiil. This was on the PC version back in 2014. I tried this method and it failed to work.

I reset my skill points, and before spending them, I was able to sprint, crouch, mount my Senche Panther and block successfully. Everything was fine, until I reallocated my skill points and I was back with my problem. I wasted 10000 gold for nothing.

I went online to check if my character had improved the next day, (It hadn't) I took my armour off and discovered that I was human, even though I am a vampire, I have the vampire skill line and have maxed it out. My character was not pale or red eyed. I cured my vampirism to see if that was the root of the problems, and for a few seconds everything was fine, but 10 seconds later, my problems came back.

Other players have witnessed these problems and I have recorded clips on my xbox one of these problems as proof. This is absolutely ruining my experience in the game because I cannot help my guild mates with dungeons etc. I have reported this to customer service in game, I have been updating my problem with other issues that arise. This is a serious bug and I don't know what has caused it. I don't want to receive automated responses via email, I would love to speak with someone about this because I am getting no where with my issue.

Please help shed some light on this situation for me guys. My game is unplayable! Thankyou
